I'm as befuddled by most of the popular culture references as only a 57 year old man who doesn't watch any tv aside from sport, Doctor Who and The Last Kingdom can be. But I'm comfortable with that.

I enjoy the Rugby 7s. Was there in Glasgow and it was superb. Really enjoying that they are focusing on Birmingham rather than Britishness or similar

Tried to get 7’s, cycling and diving tickets for Glasgow.  All I got was shitey athletics heats.  Was seething.

Was a while ago, don't remember having any problem, my dad and I got tickets for both Sunday sessions no bother. Might just have got lucky mind you

Would be fucking amazing if at least one of the 35 commonwealth countries where it's illegal to be gay watched that bit, took the hint and done the right thing. I'll not hold my breath, right enough. c***s.

Shite?

Nah, mediocre perhaps, but I've always had a soft spot for them. They're a great British institution, and I'm having one of my once a decade "let's pretend Britain isn't dead" moments.

Great win for the men in the 7s against Tonga, racking up a 40 point granny, and thought the women played pretty well, but made a couple of errors at crucial times against Fiji.

Brilliant 4-2 win for Scotland women against SA in the hockey too. Some extremely interesting umpiring, with both teams benefitting at times. The men have a tough game against New Zealand tonight

My main hopes for the games are that Scotland finish top five, or at the very least above Wales, and England finish above the Aussies at the top of the medal table.

Anyone know if these are likely to come to fruition?
