East Fife vs Dumbarton

Don’t think Wallace is an out and out/main striker these days. Last 2 seasons with us when he could be bothered playing he seemed content to sit deeper and let Connell do the running upfront hence scored very few goals over his time at Bayview.

Aye he looks the same with us. He strikes me as the type of guy who will chip in a few goals but is the type of player is more effective playing behind an out and out striker. If McKee is out this weekend I wouldn’t be against him starting in that role.

In saying wouldn’t really put it past him to be on the scoresheet.

Next question.

Printed programmes. One of my work team's sons has started collecting them. Do EF still do printed programmes? Would potentially bring one back for the wee one if you do.

Answer = YES. £2.50 per programme. Programme sellers will be at or near the turnstiles.

It's funny. Normally when we need a result I look to see when we have East Fife at home.

I'm guessing that when you guys need a result you do likewise and see when we're next at Bayview. Kind of feels like we're living in parallel universe here where both teams are sitting at the right end of a table.

I've not had a good feeling about this game for a few weeks. Probably PTSD caused by our recent record in Methil. I'd take a draw.

I was super confident last week about this but it's eaten away at me all week. I'd be happy with a point now but I fear the good start will end tomorrow.

I’ve not been confident before any of our league games so far. Being a Dumbarton fan for years really does leave you with serious confidence issues. It’s a crippling medical condition and should be recognised as such.

It would be better for the confidence issues if we just played everyday for five weeks and get the season over and done with to leave the rest of the year as an angst free zone. Not sure if the players and management would be up for it.

We've hardly had time to enjoy the record we've just created but it seems the nerves have started fraying.  We may well lose or drop points tomorrow at Methil but that will have less to do with past form or probability than what actually happens on the park.

OK, Joe McKee is out.  So bring in Ryan Wallace to start the game - I'd be interested to see him link up with Findlay Gray.

East Fife are at home and the onus is on them to press us; that's something we've become used to recently.  Our team ethos and organisation has been very decent and we look for that to continue.  Six league wins in a row at the start of a league campaign would be a great achievement for a club at our level.

Our record at New Boghead in recent years has been atrocious for the most part, but I can mind a 4-0 win, a 4-2 win, a 3-0 including a ludicrous bicycle kick from Jonny Smart.

At the same time, we've been decent at Bayview, but got mullered 6-0 in between wins against Dunfermline Athletic and Aberdeen in the League Cup in 2011.

Would take a brave person to predict this one.

0-0???

Since our relegation from the championship in 2018, we've played 14 times with 53 goals being scored. That's an average of 3.78 per game.

And there hasn't been a 0-0 between the teams since 1988. That was 70 games ago. We're probably due one.

That is a blast from the past big Carlo was a decent centre back and I’m sure we signed him from a west Lothian junior team. Gavin Murray the then manager brought in a few decent players from that area.
