Kilmarnock v Dumbarton

Enjoyed the day yesterday for sure. We done well and although Kilmarnock had the bulk of possession, it certainly didn't look like 2 teams who are 3 leagues apart. The first half wasn't up to much but the second came to life a little bit. I'd said to a couple of folk that I wasn't convinced about Kilmarnock defensively after seeing bits here and there this season. That started to show when we pressed them a bit.

Had we got ourselves in front with one of the chances, we may just have dug in and held out. It wasn't meant to be and the only piece of quality (other than Brett's save!) in the game won it. Sickening to lose to a last minute goal (again!). But wouldn't have wanted to go to extra time and lose 2 or 3 - 0 or to have lost on penalties. Hopefully that leaves a bit in the tank to push on and start winning in the league again.

Can only echo what others have said. No failures in the team and to keep Armstrong so quiet is huge credit to our workmate of the team. Wallace led the line brilliantly for all his time on the park too and I hope once Rusty gets his fitness up he will be a really good addition in league 2 too.
