Tam's road to Hampden

Vale of Leithen v Dunbar

Dunbar v Clach

Dunbar v Stirling Uni

Albion Rovers v Stirling Uni

Dundee Utd v Stirling Uni

Dundee Utd v Kilmarnock

Inverness CT v Kilmarnock

Happy with that draw, I've never been to ICT and avoided the Cheeks

I assume you're following the winner of each tie and visiting as many grounds as possible? Sounds fun!

With Celtic v Hearts on 8/3, if Sunday is out, the Monday slot is logical.

What’s wrong with Saturday?

As a draw, it works well becuase Viaplay can have Hearts v Celtic on the Saturday evening, and Rangers v Raith on the Sunday afternoon - their two preferred slots.

The other two games can then be played any time that suits the BBC.

What a brilliant idea. How did you choose your first game, just on the geography?

The Wednesday Celtic v Hearts match makes Sunday or Monday better.

I chose the first game because I have pals at Dunbar.

I'm sure a groundhopping pal managed to do the same thing a few years ago following the winners of successive ties all the way to Hampden. I decided to see how far I could get this year and it's worked out well so far.

We played 120 minutes on Wednesday night and then had a 3pm kick off on Saturday. No reason why Hearts v Celtic can't be the late kick off on Saturday. Neither is gaining any sort of advantage.

Nonsense.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with Wednesday-Saturday.

As I note above, the fact it’s the same teams playing each other on two days rest is likely to raise some objections. Now, does TV rule the roost, yep…but, IDK.

Except when perhaps a cynical late tackle knocks a key player out for three days later, where the extra two days rest might get them back…of course, neither Celtic nor Hearts would stoop to that level.

You’re trying to find problems where there are none.

Hearts v Celtic will be played on the Saturday.

Your thoughts are noted, and it’s probably correct assuming Viaplay want that slot…but we’ll see.

Absolutely shite draw but at least we've usually made a game of it v Celtic the last couple of seasons at Tynecastle. Since Postecoglou came in we're a missed penalty away from having an equal record across the three home games.

That comes with the caveat that the win was Postecoglou's first game and Scott Bain probably won't be in goal this time.

Playing them the midweek before makes it extra shite but maybe that's an opportunity to lull them into a false (true) sense of security.
