Dev
FWIW. This is how, using current teams, The Division Two could have looked if the B teams were to work their way into the SPFL. No Stranraer, Elgin City, Bonnyrigg Rose and Albion Rovers. Stenhousemuir headed down too out of the SPFL if they lost the play-off with the winners of the Lowland League/Highland League. Alternatively maybe automatic relegation for Stenhousemuir to the proposed new Conference and maybe Forfar Athletic following them down if they lost their play-off with the second placed club from the proposed new Conference. Even if the B teams won promotion to Division One or higher there would still be a reduction in the number of clubs in the league so no easy way to get back into the SPFL as the next league down would be stronger too. Division Two Stirling Albion Dumbarton Annan Athletic East Fife Aberdeen B Celtic B Hearts B Rangers B Forfar Athletic Stenhousemuir

If that happened the perfect chance to increase the league to one home and one away.

A massive show of feeling against this idea has to happen now. This league isn't a feeder league for the usual suspects. ETA: and ask how they'll vote. bravehearts dad
Not worth any discussion. Quite simple B teams should be nowhere near the pyramid system. C’mon The Rose
WC Boggs
It would be like what it is. Premier full timers destruction of part time clubs in the SPFL. This isn't a proposal, it's a war. So give them a war. Edited May 2, 2023 by WC Boggs Typo

I used to think that way but after a season with that format in the LL it isn't good. A lot of teams with no chance of the title or a relegation battle are left with dead rubber games. At least in L2 there has been something for teams to play mostly right to the end.

That's largely because there's hardly any promotion or relegation spots though. Increase those and bigger leagues wouldn't have that problem. Supporting anyone from 5th to 17th in the LL must be boring as f**k. Edited May 1, 2023 by Gordon EF

Proper promotion and relegation what a revolutionary concept.

You have a point sure. The championship this term has only Raith with nothing to play for going into the last game. Playing teams 4 times in the league isn’t the answer though imo.

Aye that's why they started the play offs in England in the 80s would make things more interesting down here.

Agreed, and this has recently been done at Dumbarton by the Sons Supporters Trust.

Absolutely fucking anything is the answer over playing colts or B teams any times a season. I’d rather stick with what we have for the rest of eternity than even entertain the notion of having to watch my club play colt/B teams. I should add that whilst the two arse cheeks deserve all the heat in the world lets not forget that Hearts and Aberdeen deserve every bit as much shite flung at them along with all the Lowland League clubs who set the ball rolling with this utter nonsense or have bent over and parted their cheeks over the recent conference proposals.

No. The team that would finish bottom would, 4x. There's no guarantee the same 4 teams would drop a place lower. So it's based on nonsense.
