Connor7 Posted May 30, 2023 Share Posted May 30, 2023 Connor Smith from Hearts is a great example... Had a number of games ranging from league 2 to the premiership. But at the start of the season he was playing at the lowest level during his career so far (Hearts B) in the lowland league. He then moved onto play for Hamilton in the championship. (3 leagues above the one he was playing in at the start of the campaign) No expert here, but its common sense to see what level was more beneficial for his development. By using the exact same logic for every young player in the country who is playing for a top premiership side. If they are good enough, they will be loaned out to an SPFL side.
