Buddies v Jambos 13/05/23

Recommended Posts

Zander Clark made 4 excellent stops to keep Hearts in touch and it really did have a feeling of inevitability to it.

Gutted, yes but the bigger picture is that this is a nicer pain to feel than the usual arse twitching horrible 4 way bottom scrap that we'd normally be sweating through so at least thankful for that.

Again though, we've shown we can live with the teams on far bigger budgets than us. Was the most attacking I've seen us in quite a long time today. We looked good.

Plenty of positives to take from today.

Firstly, well done and thanks to the Hearts fans who showed immaculate respect during our minutes applause at the start.

I thought the Hearts players went out knowing we are a robust team and went down ridiculously easy for the whole game and in the end got what they had played for, if we had kept the ball in the corner it would have been so different and a fully deserved win so again, our match management has come into question.

My initial reactions were

a. Never a red card

b. Stonewall penalty

of course, we were denied a stonewall penalty at Swinecastle in the Friday night game.

That’s a 6 point swing v Hearts on the basis of these 2 refereeing decisions that would put us firmly in the driving seat for Europe

Ironically, it was the Hearts fans singing fuck the SFA today…..

jobbies

At least we can’t get relegated!

If young Lewis had taken that down to the corner and we’d have conceded after that, he’d have been getting pelters for not playing across goal

you can’t win!

An experienced pro would probably have taken it the corner though

Or played a better pass. He got it all wrong.

Huge point for the Jambos in Paisley, fair play. No wonder your lads had a pitch invasion at the end.

It could prove to be yes.

Enjoy finishing 6th. Will chuck a pound in your buckets in a couple of years when you have to pay back your eye watering overspend.

The problem was he did neither.

He was under no pressure and could have taken a few more steps then made the decision.

Instead he panicked and played it early and poorly.

Sure he’ll learn though.

Whole team should have had seen the game out better.

Flynn especially. He must have been watching the game before he came on and spotted that at any contact, Hearts players fell down and Dickinson gave them the foul.

Ginelly just waited for any kind of contact and chucked himself to the deck when he felt it.

Radio says never a penalty.  2-2.

Maybe not when those particular pundits were playing but  that challenge would've resulted in a penalty 99 times out of 100 for the last 20 years.

Saw it coming as Flynn followed their player away from goal, if the forward scores a worldie then so be it, but his best option was always engineering some contact and going down - an experienced player like Flynn shouldn't have fallen for it.

Great first half but we didn't manage the game well in second half.

Both VAR referrals were unnecessary.

Madden who only stopped refereeing very recently also said it wasn’t a penalty.

Sounded from what he was saying that the refs had been told to make sure that football could still be a contact support and that any contact wasn’t automatically a foul.

Not today though.

Not today though.

Many fouls given for virtually nothing and then nothing given for obvious fouls

referee was an idiot

Yep. Hearts really make those dirty challenges count. Most pens awarded this season as well with 11. How many of them were actually penalties though?

And scored all of them unlike some diddy team 😏
