Anyone think there won't be a few twists and turns yet? We need to overcome our inability to win 6 pointers this coming Saturday. It’s all well and good getting decent results against the likes of Stenny, Dumbarton, Peterhead etc but we keep fluffing our lines against the teams around us. As much as I enjoyed yesterday, almost as soon as I got home I was so frustrated that it’s taken until March is round the corner for what’s arguably our first completely convincing performance of the season. RutherGlen Posted March 1 Share Posted March 1 Strange timing given it looks like we may (emphasis on the MAY) have turned a corner with last week's pumping of the league leaders. I have nothing personal against him but given he made a fairly significant contribution to our current predicament with his retention and promotion of Duffy I think this is the correct decision. It would be nice to see a new face come in to perhaps steer us in a new direction rather than just shuffling the pack of existing board members who have all been complicit in the recent shambles. He may well want to continue as a director? Let's be honest, plenty has changed since then as well (Crownpoint, our failure to seriously turn round the season). Hopefully the replacement is someone who is capable of making big decisions, correctly. Someone who can drive the whole club forward. I've no doubt that GT has skills and passion for the club, but his track record is absolutely bonkers (DGW, Broadwood, Duffy x2 and others). All that said, I wouldn't go near a chairmanship myself, ever. The abuse he's taken at games has been decidedly unpleasant. He has made an arse of the majority of big club decisions/ processes over the last couple of years but doesn’t deserve personal abuse at the games when he’s there supporting his team like the rest of us.
