Unqualified Success: the EOS Qualifying Cup 2023-24

Broxburn... 3-1 down with 5 minutes to play... and got the victory! Great way to get over the last minute heartache from the weekend. 

Bo'ness, not unexpectedly, are a very good side. The boy on the wing, Kangi-Soukpe is some player... whoever Stirling Albion have that's keeping him out their side must be seriously gifted! He was the outball and everything Bo'ness created went through him. When he was subbed off, Broxburn managed to get more of the ball, a couple of attacking substitutions later and it was all Broxburn who somehow got the 3 late goals.

Tremendous entertainment and value for money. Great result to put the weekend behind them, especially with the way it ended.

All the best to Bo'ness Athletic for the rest of their season.

Promising start and decent autumn has nor borne fruit for EOS in the cups this season... only Broxburn and Kennoway/St Andrews fly the flag in Last 16 of South Challenge Cup, while EQC has proven mixed bag v LL.

Wednesday 14th February
R4:
Uni of Stirling 5-3 Musselburgh     (aet, FT 2-2)


After thrashing Edinburgh Uni 6-2 at Gannochy in Queens Park Shield R1 earlier the students had <3hrs respite* before going again at Forthbank; but after an epic they edge out the 10 men of 'Burgh... went 0-1 1-1 / 1-2 2-2 // 2-3 3-3 / 4-3 5-3.

*in practice I'm pretty sure their 2nds will have helped fulfil QPS tie this afternoon but on paper both were first-team commitments

I assume their Lowland League squad and East of Scotland squad are registered separately as any other team, but they can play who they like (within local rules) in the Uni competitions?

No they are one club because they had a first team player in their eos squad when I saw them against armadale

After disappointments in other cups, a proud night as all 3 sides lanced LL opposition - 2 in their own dens.

Not necessarily - when it last happened finalists qualified for 2x QFs > 2x SFs > Final.

Ahhh gotcha. So kinda seeded similar to the World Club Cup thingy.

QF - 2 qualifiers + 2 L2

SF - 2 winners + 2 L1
