scottsdad
A bit like the music forum's "covers that are better than the original" thread, what movies or TV shows have been remade and are better than the original? I'll start with battlestar galactica

kennie makevin
Not so much a remake more of a sequel but 'Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads' is superior to 'The Likely Lads'. Indeed it's superior to the vast majority of British sitcoms.
coprolite
I really like Infernal Affairs, but The Departed just has more to it. I think that’s the only English language remake of a foreign film I can think of that was even worth doing.
Arch Stanton
The Maltese Falcon (1941) is better than Satan Met a Lady or The Maltese Falcon (1931).

Unless you mean the more recent remake which i haven't seen but looks pointless.

Unless you mean the more recent remake which i haven't seen but looks pointless. The recent remake was actually pretty good and the emotional payoff was quite high. I enjoyed it. I wasn't commenting on whether the original Magnificent Seven was better than Seven Samurai, just that it was worthwhile. I haven't seen The Japanese original so can't comment on which one is better.
