  1. Turning up at 11.30 for a 12.30 k.o is mental behaviour. My da' is similar and can't get to matches too early. Bonkers.
  2. That's Jim Robinson from Neighbours at the bottom there.
  3. Her frequent long weekends away have knackered the suspension imo.
  4. Groups linked to football clubs aye?....
  5. Almost certainly a whoosh from our man here tbf. Jealous of this. I bought a Mountain Equipment down jaiket for about £200 and it lasted about 4 years. Crap. Anyway. I'm bamboozled by this thread as I tend to wear the shit out of clothes, but I've weirdly got a base layer that dates from about 2007 that I've cycled and hiked in loads.
  6. It's a proper PTTGOMN but the sonata in question wasn't called the Moonlight Sonata by the composer, but by a critic after said composer had snuffed it. The opening movement is redolent of moonlight, but movements two and three most certainly aren't. He wrote it after getting dumped by a funcy woman (a contessa whose name escapes me) and the anguish and anger the composer feels about this is clear to hear in the third movement (the presto agitato). He was a bit volatile and codependent when it came to the ladies was our man. Sonata in C sharp minor for me Clive.
  7. Fairly sure the male teachers kent the score exactly here.
  8. Just looked that up to confirm. I can't see it myself in the lyrics, but it does say so on Wikipedia. Outstanding TV series and the last few episodes of Ashes to Ashes are wonderful. I've rewatched the whole thing and I still think about that last episode and its implications.
  9. Given the tech available now I'm absolutely fucking amazed that me and an entire bus of 13 year olds (I was one of them) watched Ace Ventura on a bus down to Alton Towers. Tiny TV and no doubt rubbish sound, but I definitely saw and took in the entire film. Wild.
  10. A silly post. Most posters on this site support the same team as their old man, not because they chose to independently. Dads mostly bring their kids up to support the same team as them and young kids tend not to rebel against that too seriously. The idea that people support the Jags because of some conscious virtue is fanciful. Anyway, this will be a very boring game. I just hope McGregor doesn't get injured.
  11. Playoff Result. There are 7.4 Billion cubic metres of water in loch ness. I didn't get an entry from @Leeds Saint so @Eednud (with the best overall guess of 5 Million as well) wins his playoff. @BigBo10 edges out @NJ2 with an entry of 1.88 Million and 789 respectively. Well played a'body.
  12. Miss Honey wasn't played by Sarah Paulson, but was in fact played by an actress called Embeth Davidtz. I was watching Bicentennial Man and was quite enjoying watching the lovely Sarah being her charming, Miss Honey-esque self when I decided to check the cast for the name of another actor. Genuinely thought that Sarah Paulson had changed her name in a Zowie Bowie to Duncan Jones sort of way. Embeth Davidtz Sarah Paulson Ok maybe they don't look quite so alike here, but I had just assumed they were the same person.
  13. Oddly she wouldn't dream of asking something like that in front of the Holy Father. Anyway. Bairns in pubs, especially pubs where I'm there to watch the football and swear at the telly like a madman, is a massive no-no.
  14. Mère Army turned to me during an episode of Still Game and asked "what's a bell end?" . No chance was I answering that. She can live in ignorance. Regarding your uncle, there was a cultural omerta around swearing in front of women in that generation and before. My Grampa never ever swore in front of my gran or mum, but made John Lambie look like Daniel O'Donnell in front of me, dad and my uncle. My ma tearfully opining at his wake that "he was such a gentleman too....never swore" caused a mirthful side-eye between dad and me.
  15. Can we just give @SandyCromarty one of those loyalty cards where every time he is mentioned on here he gets a wee stamp? I can't think what his reward would be for getting 20 stamps. Maybe we just name this thread after him. Anyway. Slavery and colonialism getting a good airing in the thread concerning, ehm, Nic Sturgeon's man and his camper van
  16. My mate's mum, who is the second most devout catholic I've ever met (after my old fella) came home utterly scandalised after visiting some people of the parish. "Och their language was terrible. Everything was F this and F that...cvnt this and cvnt that". Apparently to her the c bomb didn't seem to register as that bad a sweary word for her to censor it. One of those moments where me and my mate were clinging to each other we were laughing so hard.
