Not sure what to expect from our visitors, I can see them being stuffy & hard to break down, which means we'll probably struggle to do just that. Hard to say if we are that bad or Peterhead we’re that good probably a bit of both. How any manager could watch that first 45 minutes and not change anything is totally baffling. Full marks to Peterhead very hard working and fully deserved victory. Got the rub with the first goal as everyone in the stadium seen it was a foul in the lead up to the goal with the exception of the referee. 3rd goal was some finish as good as you’ll see all season. Fair play to Peterhead who were up for the game, did all the basics right, took their chances and deserved to win. As for East Fife we never seemed to be at the races or look comfortable with the ball, too many misplaced passes and hopeful punts, lost most 2nd balls in the middle of the park. Exiled Fifer Posted August 5, 2023 Share Posted August 5, 2023 Very poor from EF today, partly down to their own doing, and also down to Peterhead taking advantage of poor defending. Don’t get me wrong, Peterhead fully deserved to win and with a bit more luck ( twice against the bar) and more composed finishing could/should have scored more. And when EF did get opportunities, good blocking along with a safe and good goalkeeping prevented them from scoring. On the down side was the injury to Duthie which took an eternity for him to be carried off luckily on a trolley as one of the first aiders looked like needing treatment when not keeping up the pace. Again as we have come to expect officials were clueless. troy Posted August 6, 2023 Share Posted August 6, 2023 During the game it was clearly obvious it was going Peterhead’s way.The manager did not change it.In the league cup substitutions happened quickly and effectively.Now we are back to dithering about and waiting until we are 2-0 down before making changes.We are also lacking a creative midfielder linking midfield to forwards.Why when Austin is ineffective not introduce the other forward on the bench .The better managed team won on the day. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
