Late night kick-offs

Following on from the morning kick-offs thread, do we know of any very late night kick-offs we’ve seen in Scottish football? I don’t mean games that started on time and finished late due to delays like the Scotland v Georgia fixture, but the actual kick-off time being very late.

We rarely see matches start any later than 8pm.

8:15pm kick offs are not unknown at Broadwood. Don't know of any really late ones. 7:45 delayed for an hour or so due to rain/fog could be possible but I don't know of any examples

There have been games delayed to extremely late kickoffs... I've vague recollections of bad example in Highland in recent years?... such as:

Wednesday 10th April 2013     EOS League Premier Division (substituted for EOS League Cup)     Edinburgh City v Gretna 2008
delayed from 7:30pm to 8:30pm after Gretna's bus broke down at West Linton, so they had to be ferried on in a fleet of taxicabs: they played their outstanding league game instead of a League Cup tie, as any need for extra-time + penalties would have exceeded Meadowbank's floodlight curfew of 10:30pm

Friday 6th March 2020     EOS League Cup     Hawick Royal Albert v Whitehill Welfare (at Hawick Linden RFC)
delayed from 8pm to 8:30pm after a rugby player suffered a bad injury in preceding training session

Cannot recall any game scheduled to start later than 8:15pm.

Sure a Viaplay cup game kicked-off at 8:30pm one evening, as they trialled a double-header.

Don't mind a 8:30pm kick-off - if it's not far to travel.

Wed 19 Oct 2022     Motherwell v Celtic     6:15pm
Wed 19 Oct 2022     Rangers v Dundee        8:15pm

Have various Scottish clubs home European games not kicked off at a later hour, maybe for TV?

Motherwell away to Stjarnan comes to mind?

Tbf with the UK being on the Western-reaches of UEFA it would have to be a side in either Portugal or Iceland at home

As @Ray Patterson says Scotland is highly unlikely to have games kicking off late.

Contrast to Kazahkstan, where quite often games kick off at times like 11pm purely to satisfy the TV requirements in western Europe.

Home games meant surely?

Racing-Celtic... and Kilmarnock/etc. in International Soccer League... would be outlandish KOs GMT.

We’re the masters of an 8.15pm kick-off. The first leg of the 2020/21 Premiership play-off final also kicked off at that time.

Sky went for the split kick-offs during Covid, think United played Hibs at 6pm on a Tuesday night at one point.

Thought it worked quite well - when there wasn't any fans in ground

Once went to Brechin for a 19.45 kick off, and due to accident on Forth Bridge some Brechin players were not there. Both clubs agreed to delay and after seeing half of European game in nearby pub we went back to the ground for a 20.50 start .Would have been better advised to stay in the pub as we got humped by the late arrivals.

Back in Airdrie well after midnight.
