ICTChris
Seven people have been arrested over rioting in Auchinleck in East Ayshire. Last weekend saw what police have described as "large scale disorder" in the village. Riot police came under attack after attending reports of a crowd gathering around two addresses in the village and at least one police officer required hospital treatment. Two homes have been damaged with fire, possibly from petrol bombs, during the assault. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-67535875 Unsurprisingly, social media has seen speculation as to the cause of the rioting, with a number of people, included some far-right figures, stating that it was due to locals attacking drug dealers who had set up in the area. Have any P&Bers ever been part of an angry mob?
ICTChris
There is a Sun article that quotes an unnamed local as saying "it was neighbourhood watch, Ayrshire style"/
Jacksgranda
1974 Ulster Workers Strike. Although the "mob" was fairly good natured as it paraded around Coleraine. Brian McCrudden was headbutted and poleaxed. in the Diamond, but that may have been on the occasion of another "mob". I was more observer than participant on both occasions.

Melanius Mullarkey
As with the Dundee and Edinburgh disturbances over the past couple of years, these are not riots. Riots tend to have a clear political agenda. Please see the good old days when proper rioting took place. *wipes something from eye*

tamthebam
I've never been part of an angry mob but I went to a Dundee United match last season and seemed to be part of a disgruntled multitude

Erm yes, because I'm sure that Auchinleck was such a wellness haven before this weekend. I suspect that Brass Eye's Paedogeddon may be closer to the mark here. Quote Have any P&Bers ever been part of an angry mob? v Jim McInally v James Grady v Jim Duffy (cup defeat at Spartans, specifically) v Jonatan Johansson I may be forgetting some as we have had literally about 17 different managers since 2000. -

There's no confirmation of any of this, of course.
