East Fife v Stranraer (Sat 23/3)

Recommended Posts

Nice sunny day in the Kingdom if a  little breezy.

Can East  Fife continue their unbeaten  run under the Campbells' ? Hopeful for a home  win but the  blues will be fighting for everything. We have to be on our game from the start this week.

East Fife will  continue with 4-2-3-1. I would pick :

                                                                 -Fleming-

                                           -Murdoch- Blaney-Easton-Newton-

                                                       -Millar-        -McManus-

                                            -Shepherd-     -Trouten-     -Healy-

                                                                  -Austin-

The wind ruined the match but  a good 3 points for The Fifers'  leaving us just 6 points behind  Spartans whom we still have  to play at home. 7 games unbeaten under the new management  team with  4 wins and 3  draws, well done to all involved !

Stranraer  won the toss and  correctly played  with the  wind. They took the lead with  a Grant  free kick from wide position that  crept in at  the far post. Apart  from that Stranraer didn't really threaten  while  we found it difficult to get make clear cut chances despite having the majority of the ball.

Full credit to the young lads in the 2nd half, James Lyon took his  goal well and  was great to  see Jack score his first of the season. Falling  behind seemed to alert Stranraer to the danger they are in  and they showed  a bit more urgency without bothering Fleming.

Top marks to  Blaney, Easton and  Trouten who i thought were the  pick  of the bunch.   We  missed Fash today  but the  players proved we aren't a 1 man team.

Onto next  week at home v Elgin City.

We would not have won that game earlier in the season. So pleasing to see the Campbells getting the boys inside at HT and changing things ….👏👏👏

Thought we would be spared George Calder after his refereeing against Peterhead but no.

Still useless, the missed foul on Trouten in the penalty box summed him up.

It was the succession of yellow cards that was utterly baffling.

Thought it was a broken finger nail that he picked up 😆

No, your cloggers managed to break his ribs!!!

We haven’t mentioned that your lot also managed to boot Brogan Walls out of the game as well, forcing him to be subbed off before half time injured, he missed today also and will probably be out for the next few weeks as well, cheers!!!
