Give us a shout next home game , i will give you a tea bag and a pasta salad oot o LIDL .

Thanks.

I still wonder if wind swirling around the pitch would have been any less of a factor if the ground wasn't orientated north-south? At least if it east-west,  it would favour teams either half.

Today was a complete contrast to the free-flowing encounter at Links Park a short while ago.

Today was dictated by the conditions with players understandably focussing more on avoiding mistakes than playing expressive football.

Stirling's Forthbank pies currently top of the league (unlike the team).

Yes, I noticed there was a pie thing going on with some of the Binos. It's always good to have that silver-lining to draw comfort (eating) from.

From FIFA stadium guidelines, apparently North/South (ish) is best practice:

My guess would be taking the sun as a more consistent factor (e.g. East to West) versus wind direction being variable.

Can already see my Sunday is going to be spent on google maps looking at the pitch orientations in the SPFL 😂

I hadn't thought of having to play into blinding sunshine as being a factor with east-west oriented grounds. I would have thought that in Scotland having prevailing winds would be more of a factor than sunshine, especially in grounds which are less sheltered from the elements.

Bit surprised we didn't build the pitch on a turntable so we could change its direction in a strong wind tbh.

No chance, sure Mike has a vault hidden under there.

ETA - although the KFC spinning round to be in the middle of Clackmannan Road would be a laugh

I would think pitch orientation is mostly determined more by the land available when the stadiums are built and what stands/terraces are to be incorporated rather than any regards to prevailing weather/sunshine.

Yes, and their ghosts can often be seen haunting the pitch dressed in blue jerseys.
