Relegated with positive GD? Promoted with negative GD?

I think Easthouses Lily are the only senior club ever relegated (under regular conditions) without negative GD... EOS Premier Division 2008-09: came 11th on 0.

Inverness have come 9th on +1 :o!

Playoffs await them...

Dumbarton were promoted via playoffs from SFL2 2011-12: finished 3rd on 0... Brechin from SPFL1 2016-17: finished 4th on -6... Edinburgh City from SPFL2 2021-22: finished 4th on -6.

Caley Thistle had the fourth-best goal difference in the league, pipping Airdrie because they lost 2-0 at Hampden, and were 3 points from the top half of the table. The Championship is brutal.

Alloa *technically* were relegated in 1994 with a goal difference of +2 but that was part of the restructure from three divisions to four.  They finished seventh in the old Second Division.

Good spot.

Slightly off topic, but when Reading were winning during a match away to QPR in the English Championship on a Friday night last season , they went top with a negative goal difference. The season must have been a good 10+ games old, so was very unusual.

Didn't last long as QPR eventually won the game and Reading have subsequently went to pot
