HuttonDressedAsLahm
Having the Swiss score a few more probably suits. Makes a draw v us quite useful for them given they’d finish on a minimum of 4 points and a significant GD advantage over us. Wouldn’t be terrible for the Hungarians to be effectively out by Sunday either. Edited June 15 by HuttonDressedAsLahm
2426255
Hungary are arguably in a worse position than us with Germany still to come in their next game having not yet qualified. If we can get a draw against the Swiss qualification is there for us. Not a bad outcome. I'd take a draw all day long given the result in this game. jagtastic
Both those teams are beatable if we can get the finger out.

Both have a cutting edge we don't, and Xhaka/Szoboszlai are better at breaking lines than anyone we have too. I can't see us keeping a clean sheet against either, and are we likely to score twice against either?
DAFC.
Good result today for us, but we'll not do anything in the remaining games anyway, so f*ck it.
accies1874
My half-assed analysis from watching an hour of that game is that Switzerland look like the kind of team who'll cause us problems whereas Hungary might just swing crosses in for 90 minutes. Admittedly, I was distracted by the friendly but steaming local going on about Motorhead and motorbikes.

Yep that’s pretty much my view too. 4 points while clearly not impossible looks a very big ask.
Ross.
Compounding that defeat last night, it appears my missus has converted the boy into a fucking Swiss fan today. Not that I blame him, but I’ve spent the first 4 years of his life trying to get him interested in the fucking game and she has managed it in 180 minutes.

We aren’t going to turn up and cruise past anybody, but both teams had spells in that game where they looked distinctly average and prone to mistakes under pressure. Just like us. We are capable of beating both.

There's no point comparing the current team to the one 12 months ago IMO, there's a lack of belief/confidence there now that's seeped in since England crusied through us.

Maybe just me but I’ve no idea why you would approach two winnable games in a tournament worrying about poor form or performances against teams notably better than the ones you are facing. Why wouldn’t you focus on beating better or similar strength teams in the qualifying campaign? If we shit the bed on Wednesday then that’ll be that, but hopefully a bit of professional pride will provide the required boot up the arse.

In the last 10 games we've lost to Northern Ireland, amd drawn with Finland, Georgia, and Norway. Then we had the laboured win over Gibraltar.

You are worried about form since qualifying and I don’t think there’s any point dwelling on it. Particularly with two winnable games in front of us for a chance to stay in the tournament.

Looking at our form over a year ago is irrelevant due to the form in the last 10 games.
