It's basically identical to us against Germany here, arguably even more one-sided, unfortunately we had Ryan Christie as the out-ball typically since all our top level players are left-backs and central midfielders. It's a tactic which can work if you frustrate them long enough, but blows up in your face if you concede early. Happens all the time in club football whereby a smaller side wins a game unexpectedly. I'm aware you are trying to further decry Scotland with your comment but it's completely irrelevant.
