Melanius Mullarkey
No manager bounce.
Aqy
The goals are definitely there, but can't get away with shipping so many in return. Was planning to go to the Brora game this weekend, but that's been postponed due to their cup replay with Albion Rovers.
Aqy
Keith game has been rescheduled for the 4th Dec, haven't heard anything more about the friendly with South Lochaber to be played at Claggan.
HibeeJibee
Got beaten 10-0 at Deveronvale on Saturday: according to FN had no subs, played most of 2nd half with 10 men after an injury, are operating without a manager and only took a couple of non-players. Whether or not the pitch is better than it was - and apparently their application to start playing games at home has been declined - it appears a grim situation, without troubles to seek.
Ivo den Bieman
They'll be eviscerated by whoever wins the Midland League and won't be seen again at this level for some time.
LongTimeLurker
^^^only if said Midlands League champion is licensed and two of the three frontrunners (East Craigie and Carnoustie Panmure) are unlikely to be. Banks o Dee are looking like the probable playoff winner at this point.
Whitburn Vale
They're an embarrassment to the SHFL,the quicker they're relegated to the NCL the better and I mean no disrespect to the likes of St.Duthus and Thurso.......... Vale could hav won by 15 -0,Fort were all over the place,no subs etc
TheScarf
Aye this will probably be their last HL in all of our lifetimes. The NCL will be a nightmare for them. Will be like travelling to Brora and Wick but for every away game. On the promotion side, I wouldn't right BOD off yet, one game away to a ML side doesn't prove anything. Isn't it a wee 3 team league where the 3 league winners play each other home and away?

Won't be any harder than traipsing to Aberdeenshire every other week in the HL.
FairWeatherFan
If they're meant to tap into the local scene through to Inverness it should be easier. It'd really only be Halkirk, Thurso, and Orkney that are awkward.

Hasn't been revealed but every HL side had to choose where to go if relegated back in July, and the Midland League wouldn't make much difference travel wise for them. Much harder to compete in but they might just have wanted to throw a parting hand grenade, they're always whining about how they're treated by the HL. AsimButtHitsASix
Fort William will be thankful for the much shorter league season in the NCL I reckon. Less hassle getting the pitch in decent nick for half as many games
Spyro
Fort William to Dundee - 126 miles away, then further for the majority of the other teams in the league. Also a 38 game season… Fort William to Tain - 96 miles (Bonar Bridge is 99 miles), with the majority of the league being even closer and a shorter league campaign… Honestly can’t understand where this Midlands league talk comes from! It's all from me trying to stir things up I'm afraid. Although if you calculate it on driving time rather than distance the difference narrows, more so when Scourie were still in the NCL. LongTimeLurker
Would be hilarious to watch unfold but think they would understand that their presence would be about as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit because of the number of midweek games a league like the Midlands League typically wants to do when the daylight hours permit. The NCL's format is better for clubs in remote locations.
Jimmy Shaker
Fort have zero self-awareness. They’d probably think their presence would be heartily welcomed.

Maybe even midweek training in Inverness. Less chance of a back log in games as well. Very likely they could turn around within a couple of years and win the league. Getting back up will be too much of an ask though. All of course depending on whether those running the club want to keep it going when the club is relegated at the end of the season. It was 50-50 about 3 years ago after most of the board and management had enough and their replacements were deciding between the NCL and HL. They decided to stay in the HL about the same time as they were offered a bus full of loan players from Caley, not sure of the exact timing. Poor decision imo.
FairWeatherFan
It was about 10 years ago now that they were able to scrape together enough players for a reserve side in the NCL. With all the effort they've had from people trying to keep it ticking over i'm sure they'll still hang around. Most things will get easier for them competitively, and they've still got the Scottish Cup and North of Scotland Cup to compete participate in.
Aqy
Some CV he's got, is he the man to improve the Fort's fortunes? Hopefully his experience as a scout will help him find a gem.
