JCScouting
This was given offside for Liam on the far side not Watson playing 11. Haven't managed to have a look at Watsons disallowed goal yet. Could have been 1-0 in the first 2 mins Liam miles onside. Edited September 9 by JCScouting
JCScouting
Can't get the frame to stay when Liam hits the ball but the ball is circled in red here. Watson looks level and was even further back when the ball was struck. Edited September 10 by JCScouting
JCScouting
41’ | GOAL! Berwick take the lead as Watson finds joy down the left-hand side again. Was just checking Twitter every now and again. Finally getting to a game next weekend might be Berwick but might go watch a game a bit closer to home as I'm nightshift.
Redcar
Reproduced from the cup thread In case any gers fans missed it. Entertaining game at Shielfield today, with some bonkers twists and turns Ex-player - and much derided beanpole Kyle Baker - sent the coach load of Cupar fans into a noisy frenzy after just 2 minutes, smacking in a loose ball when Berwick's defence went into their well rehearsed after-you-pal routine. After that, Berwick totally bossed possession and got a deserved equaliser without really threatening a lot more than that. Cupar battled hard without looking like scoring. Watson deservedly got the Gers in front, before the most bonkers event of the match which saw Kyle Baker's brother Lewis (also ex Berwick, also much ridiculed and also superstretched), get a red card 2 minutes after he loped from the bench. It was something he said to the ref, which probably involved words beginning with 'C'. (Baker left Berwick to become a Police Officer but clearly chose not to remain silent). Only a matter of time, maybe? Naw. Cupar equalised 10 minutes from time and it took that to finally stir the Gers into action with 2 late goals from MoM Devers. Deserved win for Berwick, but Cupar did well.

Fixture man clearly has a personal grudge against me or something lol
Ranaldo Bairn Posted Tuesday at 22:09 Share Posted Tuesday at 22:09 Hiya lads. My son is best pals with Joe Ellison's brother, and tells me Joe got a really nasty one tonight? I was speaking to Joe's mum earlier today too, and she was really hopeful he was going to play tonight as well. Any info, cheers.
Deanburn Dave Posted Tuesday at 22:35 Share Posted Tuesday at 22:35 Absolutely no nastiness in the game tonight from the BU's. Jamie McCormack twice tried to noise up BU #9 Smarticus by raising his hands but there was hardly a rough tackle in the game.

Mortifying. Geddes out-foxed us. Students out-thought, out-passed, out-ran, out-fought us. Humiliation. EDIT: apparently our record defeat in Scottish football = 9-1 at Hamilton in 1980... so were 1 goal from equalling that (note they had a goal ruled out for a tight offside plus hit the post and later the bar!) and tonight's quite possibly our record home defeat? On 21/08/2024 at 18:40, HibeeJibee said: Alan Bell confirms last night equalled our club record home defeat: joining a few League Cup ties v higher opposition, and a C Division game way back in 1951. So at least those of us who stuck-it-out to FT saw some history made ... So we resume... Berwick Rangers 1-7 (seven) East Kilbride HT: 0-5 Credit to Collins for a late quality freekick... for although EK strolled around 2nd half (even resorting to exhibition stuff at times), they might have added 1 or 2 more if momentum hadn't swung back briefly, before ref blew-up on 90mins probably from sympathy. Much of the Berwick fanbase - certainly those with basic knowledge of the level we've been playing at over last 5yrs - understand losing to teams like EK, Caledonian Braves, the many clubs who have come up from EOS, and so on... they're aware of the size of these sides and/or their £ resources. EK undeniably have better players. I do not think the fanbase can easily comprehend losing 0-7 and 1-7 at home in space of 6 weeks. Nor should they. Players and performances should never dredge such depths.

Redcar
Struth. What an embarrassing display that was. EK are obviously decent, but 1-7 at home is just desperate. Anyone hiding behind the 'EK budget' excuse is clutching at the flimsiest of straws. Our midfield is, and has been since the season started, the worst in the Division. Pointing at anything else is just an excuse. EK had an out-ball to either winger today, because our fullbacks are young and naive. But they got to play that ball because our midfield has all the effort and commitment of a cardboard cutout. Some of these terrible displays are worse than anything under Johnny Harvey, and that is almost unbelievable. 2 x 7 goal home defeats, and shipping huge amounts of goals after signing a string of experienced central-defenders is jaw-droppingly bad, and the focus has to be on our truly pathetic midfield. Scobbie is one game away, if he hasn't gone already. And I really don't want to say that, but I don't get how he can continue to preside over performances that aren't just bad, they are excruciating and are at a footballing level that is several leagues below Lowland. It's diabolical feat.

ekok
We kept up the level of performance in last 3 games. In one week scored 14 goals with the loss of 1. That is the consistency we will need to win the league this year. That said Berwick were very poor. Young side , kept plugging away, didn't resort to dirty play. Even the lad that got sent off, two silly fouls, not an ounce of malice. As always the welcome and hospitality second to none. Maintaining their standards, properly good people and wish them nothing but good things.
