The Black Flag Posted Monday at 16:20 Share Posted Monday at 16:20 This is easily the biggest game in the league on Saturday, never mind another east coast derby or the Tory supporting border clubs. Barring the weather over the next few days doing an AFC wimbledon to our beautiful green grass pitch, I'm going along to watch this. No other game in League 1 on Saturday captures the imaginations of football fans around the country. I'm not going to say a bad word against Stenny, in fact I would like to see them in the play offs end of season along with Alloa and Montrose. Of course with The Caley top. I do like visiting Ochilview one best grounds in the lower leagues, I look forward to another visit later in the season.
Central Belt Caley Posted Monday at 16:47 Share Posted Monday at 16:47 Here’s my prediction: A 1-1 draw, with Remi Savage scoring both goals. Us to have 73% possession and have 3 shots. Duncan “Big Dunc” Ferguson to have verbal diarrhoea in his interview.

Six empty hooses and they say there is a hoosing crisis, that can only mean that nobody wants to stay in Stenhousemuir.

We're yet to register a goal away from home so far this season, let alone pick up a point, but we haven't exactly been terrible and have only really let ourselves down with daft mistakes at inopportune moments. If we are to turn things around, Inverness seems like a presentable place to do it. Duncan Ferguson's team aren't exactly a fearful bunch; when you look through the squad, there's nothing really startling in there. I've watched their match highlights over the course of the season and there are some useful players here and there but the manager's overly cautious approach and insistence on fielding a team of central defenders will hold them back. At least he can't moan about plastic pitches this week. Stenhousemuir have worked very hard to dig out results against Falkirk and Queen of the South recently and I expect another difficult encounter here. I'm worried about who Gary Naysmith can pick from, however - four players suffered injuries against Queens on Saturday and I'm not sure who's in and who's out. Based on nothing more than a feeling, Euan O'Reilly and Aaron Steele will be available while Kyle Jacobs and Ross Taylor will miss out. It might be worth giving Scott Tomlinson a start - he looked lively at points at the weekend - or recalling Matty Yates to the starting XI (although Curtis Lyle has probably a better chance of getting on ahead of Yates at the moment). If we can reprise the same level of endeavour we showed at the weekend, we can take something from the game, I feel. Let's go with: - Matty Aitken - - Euan O'Reilly - Blair Alston - Scott Tomlinson - - Mikey Anderson - Nat Wedderburn - - Kinlay Bilham - Aaron Steele - Gregor Buchanan - Ross Meechan - - Darren Jamieson - I've never been to the Caledonian Stadium before so I'm looking forward to this trip. I wonder if I'll meet SandyCromarty on my travels. Some of his comments on this thread about Stenhousemuir have been very disres.pectful I imagine he looks like that old boy who pitched up on Question Time when they filmed in Eden Court that time. Not disrespectful at all just stating facts. You've got to admit Stenhousemuir is hardly the Las Vegas of the Forth Valley. How many of you remember The Charioteer in Falkirk? And that photo supposed to be me on QT has been done to death in the past on here as well you know.

The players aren’t used to being back on grass. The referee got injured. We’re unbeaten except from the penalty to Annan. DOMINATED.
PB1994 Posted Tuesday at 08:52 Share Posted Tuesday at 08:52 Say what you want about Stenny but it is a cracking away day. I mean technically it was Queens Park we were playing and apart from the game I spent the whole time in Larbert but still, it was good fun.

The night cup game that went to penalties in 2012/13 (I think) was also a great away day.

I remember that match. I think we had an outstanding chance at the death to win but Darren Smith shot straight at the goalkeeper. I think he might have missed his penalty in the shoot-out too. A night to forget for the forward!

I remember the goalkeeper Robbie Thomson copping abuse all night and constantly reacting to it, I think he was on loan from Celtic and may have joined just before that game (correct me if I’m wrong?) so I can only assume he wasn’t used to fans shouting at him. Will we be behind that goal again or is there no segregation these days? It was a good spot.
ICTChris Posted Tuesday at 11:04 Share Posted Tuesday at 11:04 Doubt it will match the greatest ever Caley v Stenny game You can even see me in the celebrations of the goal.

Away fans are in the terracing behind the goal though you can sit in the far end of the stand if you like.

I just checked and I think it was actually his first senior game so understandable why he got so rattled. Also - Billy McKay played and scored first in that game. Let’s hope he does so again so that Duncan Ferguson can hook him and Brooks for his son and snatch a draw from the jaws of victory.

We've come a long way from Hampden, Ibrox and Parkheed to the tumbleweed villages. Inverness doesn't have a university either. A UHI campus puts you on a par with Stornoway, Dunoon and Teangue and not quite as good as Kirkcaldy which has a campus from a proper university.
