Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...

Recommended Posts

You know that picture could easily be taken anywhere in Scotland.

If you're not from Ayr, where then? don't be embarrassed

Off the top of my head, some famous Glaswegians

Charles Rennie Mackintosh

Alex Ferguson

Jim Watt

John Logie Baird

Alexander Todd

Chris Brookmyre

Liz Lochhead

Robert Caryle

Peter Capaldi

Rikki Fulton

James McAvoy

Arthur Witten Brown

Scrooge McDuck

Certainly not embarrassed to say I am from Dundee, as I have said many times on these forums before.

According to where I lifted it from they are Glasgow neds so that's good enough for me.

John Logie Baird was not from Glasgow, Scrooge McDuck is a born and bred Paisley drake and has already been stated Liz Lochead is from Lanarkshire. So that makes your list a lot shorter

Lots of places have famous people. That doesn't make it any less of a hole

Glasgow is and always has been a far superior city to Dundee,

Only someone from Glasgow would say this. The rest of the world knows better.

Glasgow couldn't even manage to demolish a high rise properly FFS

Lets not forget, Dundee also has its fair amount of shit holes and neds

As does pretty much every city, town and village in Scotland. Glasgow has more than the rest though.

People like Harry Kane, they have to 'behave' in an appropriate way as they're held as a role model to youngsters.

"Harry, you went into the game against Spain knowing they play possession football, do you think you all coped well against Spain tonight"

HK - I fot we was.

Lies. I reside in Dundee for now and have to endure daily aural assaults from the braying, barking locals. Fortunately, having previously lived in Aberdeen, I am able to handle it

It's not lies. However, having also worked in Aberdeen, I somewhat agree, and sympathise, with the latter part of your post.

It is lies. But I feel we've bonded over having to endure the vocal horror that is broad Doric on a regular basis
