Billy Jean King
Why not - it's only a 54-hour round trip - plus an hour or so to dig a big hole. He could easily have slipped away for that length of time without being noticed - it's not like all eyes were on him after all!Imagine the tremendous crops in the intervening years, superb fertiliser that. Why do no one suspect why herr Bruckners runner beans were 20 foot tall and cropping as though in a genetic modification experiment.

Zen Archer (Raconteur)
Someone might have an Austrian uncle. Quote The man said Christian B arrived in the spring or summer of 2007 and told him he wanted to insulate a small shack which stood on a concrete base in the garden with a small cellar underneath. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-53582930

Quote The German woman who rented her garden to Christian B in neighbouring Braunschweig told The Mirror in June: “There was a hole in the floor inside the allotment house and one day he told me he wanted to put a see-through perspex glass over it. “I said to him, ‘What the hell for? Just so you can look down into a dirty old cellar?’
Alternative Title
Utterly heartbreaking. "Have you seen the price of courgettes?" said the heartbroken allotment owner. "I could find Operation Grange for a year with the money I have lost." https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/jul/29/madeleine-mccann-police-in-germany-find-cellar-during-allotment-search#click=https://t.co/FyhUdYeduP

welshbairn
Conclusive proof they've got their man, enough to satisfy even the most dedicated follower of the sacked Portuguese cop. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/12246614/madeleine-mccann-news-latest-live/
Alternative Title
Items found in suspect’s cellar: blue bucket, a plant pot, tarpaulin, a string bag, bags of gravel, corrugated iron, wooden floor boards, iron bars, plastic piping, a laundry bag, plastic covering and a tree trunk. Such damning evidence! Jings I'd have got away with it if PC Murdoch was still on the job. Shotgun
My dog was barking repeatedly for a minute or so there. I was worried the German polis were digging up my garden but then I realised she was just trying to scare someone away as they were walking past the house. Phew.
Ross.
The allotments having cellars is not entirely uncommon in this part of the world. I know of one boy who has a bar under his with room for a dozen people. He rents it out for small parties. Though after reading this thread I will definitely be looking at him with a fair bit of suspicion in future.
