peasy23
England won the second T20, but only just. They scored 171-8 batting first, and had the Windies needing 30 from the last over. Akiel Hosein battered Saqib Mahmood for 28 to end up just 1 run short.

About the most comfortable 1 run win ever seen, I reckon. 22 required from 4 balls, and then 14 from 2. Mahmood just avoided wides the last 2 balls and got pumped, but there was never any real danger of losing that.

I know it's tough for the bowler when the batsman is swinging hard, but there a couple of honking deliveries from Mahmood in that over.

It was a superb 107 from 53 balls by Ravman Powell for the Windies. Decent effort by Banton, with Phil Salt scoring 57 from 24 on his T20 debut.
peasy23
England's women following the example set by the men and having a car crash of a test match in Canberra. They had Australia at 4-2 yesterday, but a couple of dropped catches let the hosts off the hook and they declared on 337-9. England slipped to 150-7 in reply. Heather Knight doing her bit as skipper and is currently on 92, with 15 the best anyone else could score. 8th wicket has just fallen though so she might run out of partners before she gets her ton.

Eednud
Heather Knight 127 no at end of play. Highest score by an English woman in a test match in Australia and think the commentator said next ball that she then equalled or surpassed the best test score by any overseas player in a test. England finish on 8/235.
die hard doonhamer
One for the Scottish cricket fans. I interviewed Carlton’s Shujaa Khan ahead of their European Cricket League campaign next month

England finish on 8/235. She's keeping the series alive single handedly at the moment, England really need the win to have any chance, a draw would at least give them a chance going into the ODIs. It would be a slim chance tbf given Australia's record in that format.
peasy23
150 for Heather Knight, she averaged 27 in the test matches she played before she was captain, averaging 137 and rising since.

die hard doonhamer
Only a 40 run deficit in the end. A fantastic effort from where they were. Knight finished unbeaten on 168. What an innings.

England right back in the game, and get a early wicket with Healy out for a duck.Heather Knight has only been off the field for 13 balls in the whole 2 and a bit days.
peasy23
The draw looking likely now after rain stopped play before lunch with Australia at 12-2, and that was it for the day.
peasy23
Be interesting to see what tactics Australia come out with tonight. It's simple for England, they need to bowl the Aussies out cheaply then chase down whatever target they are set. Australia already have a 4-2 lead in the series and will be strong favourites to win the ODIs. They need to decide if they want build a quick lead then declare with a score that England might think they can chase down. Or it might just piss down most of the day, like last night.
peasy23
England had been struggling to score, but a few slack balls from Jason Holder have been dispatched by Moeen Ali, 26 off 5 balls in this over so far.
peasy23
30 off the over and all of a sudden England have a much more competitive looking 162-3 from 18.
