peasy23
4 referrals now for DRS? The way England and Australia wasted them this summer they should have given them less, not more!
AberdeenBud
The way England and Australia wasted them this summer they should have given them less, not more! I concur.
Jupiter Jazz
DRS should be left in the hands of the umpires, it should be nothing to do with the players. This referral nonsense is too gimmicky for my liking. So there.
dorlomin
I wonder how long before England field a cricket team with no one born in England.

Fuctifano
"England" squad Cook Root Carberry Trott (SA) Pietersen (SA) Bell Ballance (Zim) Bairstow Prior (SA) Stokes (NZ) Anderson Broad Finn Rankin (NI) Tremlett Swann Panesar Onions desperately unlucky to miss out IMO. England obviously see there only being one role for a slingier bowler so unless Anderson gets injured then Onions won't get in. Wouldn't expect Stokes, Monty, Rankin, or Carberry to do much except carry drinks unless there's injuries.
Jupiter Jazz
Would have preferred Buttler or Kieswetter in place of Bairstow and I like the look of Chris Jordan who I might of taken in place of Stokes. Other than that it's an intriguing and positive selection.
Reynard
"England" squad Cook Root Carberry Trott (SA) Pietersen (SA) Bell Ballance (Zim) Bairstow Prior (SA) Stokes (NZ) Anderson Broad Finn Rankin (NI) Tremlett Swann Panesar Onions desperately unlucky to miss out IMO. England obviously see there only being one role for a slingier bowler so unless Anderson gets injured then Onions won't get in. Wouldn't expect Stokes, Monty, Rankin, or Carberry to do much except carry drinks unless there's injuries. Onions is one of those guys that needs to be playing a lot or everything goes pear shaped. He will be out in SA this winter so if anything does happen to Anderson he will get the call to go over. Panesar coming back in is unexpected but welcome as he is the best back up to Swann in the country by a mile. He is a bit fragile mentally though so he will need to be looked after really well. The fast bowling looks decent potentially and plenty of cover in there too for wickets that will be better suited for pace than the puddings in England this summer. Bairstow being persisted with seems OK to me and his wicketkeeping is probably the reason why. Keiswetter maybe unlucky but he isn't really rated for test cricket. The batting line up will pick itself for now Carberry might be in with a shout down the line but not to start with unless there are injuries. It looks alright really to me.

peasy23
Hotspot won't be used in the Ashes series as channel 9 says it costs them too much.
Fuctifano
The Little Master to retire. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2013/oct/10/sachin-tendulkar-to-retire-india Absolutely fantastic player, incredible stats over 4 decades. Although if you asked me who the best I've ever seen was I'd say John Crawley Lara.

AberdeenBud
Terrific Player had the pleasure of seeing him play at Headingley where he scored a century. Maybe a long time before someone else scores as many test runs as the little master has notched up. If ever. Never saw him in the flesh despite making the trip down for the odd test, would have been a privilege. Without doubt one of the best sportsmen of all time.

peasy23
Watching India destroy Australia's attack as they chase down the 359 the Aussies scored. India are 339-1 with Rohit on 125 from 118 balls and Kohli on 93 from 48. Entertaining stuff. Second highest run chase in the 50 over format if they pull it off, which they look as if they will do easily with 8 overs left. Kohli gets his 100 from 52 balls, fastest ever 1 day century by an Indian. Edited October 16, 2013 by peasy23
