FuzzyBear
Tendulkar just came in to bat in his last test. Never seen an ovation like it. Awesome stuff. Edited November 14, 2013 by FuzzyBear
Raidernation
Even Lara said he's the best EVER. Better than Bradman?
Bearwithme
I doubt if he's better than Bradman who averaged virtually 100 in Tests. Tendulkar is a truly great player though. Played well for his 38 not out today....
AberdeenBud
The little master dismissed for 74. An overused term, but a true living legend. Had the pleasure of seeing him play in the flesh at the Oval six years ago.

pandarilla
An interesting wee article using a range of stats to counter the Tendulkar hype. World's 29th best batsman? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-24941869
Bearwithme
Prior looks like being fit for the first Test. That presumably only leaves the question of the third seamer. Finn, Rankin or Tremlett? None of them have made a strong case for inclusion.

Probably precautionary leaving him out of the final warm up. Michael Clarke thinks it's going to be Tremlett and I think he's probably right.
AberdeenBud
7 Days Late nights, falling asleep at work, canny wait. http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2013/nov/15/cricket-night-time-tv-ashes
AberdeenBud
Rankin both taking 3-for's in the last warm up, maybe the predictions of Tremlett getting the final place might be wide of the mark? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/24967579 Hard to call who they're going to go with. Latino Lover
Mcg open day today so technically played on the hallowed turf, albeit badly kicking an afl ball around.
Eednud
On Wednesday went to first game at revamped Adelaide Oval SA v WA in Sheffield Shield, free entry for the 4 days, almost 7,000 on Day 1, amazing numbers for a Shield game. Went Day 2 as well when reckon about 2,500. There is so much work to do before the Test, It will be a miracle or a lot of overtime and performance bonuses if ready in time. SA made their highest ever score v WA 601 with Phil Hughes 204. Outfield looks a bit sandy for Adelaide but will still be a great cricket venue even though only a token hill remains in front of the old scoreboard. $8.50 for a full strength beer.
capybara
Looking forward to this even though it will mean a sleepless night or two. Well who will bowl? Tremlett, Finn? Bairstow looks ok to keep wicket. Will the Kookaburra swing? Mitchell Johnson could be crucial in this series. England did not bat that well in the summer. Their bowlers won the ashes.

I see Puddings cosgrove formerly of SA has aged some blubber, bit late for this ashes but he definite has talent if he can continue to knuckle down.

SA v TAS starts this Friday and if he's playing might be worth watching as it still seems to be a batsman's paradise.
mjw
I've landed lucky with this starting the week i'm backshift. The Aussies have been doing a lot of (trash) talking now it's time for action.
Belfast_Tim
Not long to go now. Can't wait. The Aussies really need to lay down a marker in the first hour or two. Can't let England get on top early on. Interesting to see which Mitchell Johnson turns up. Could be the difference.
