WullieBroonIsGod
Lyth's failure will be masked by the Aussie collapse. Another waft outside off
Doc Sportello
Aye, they should move Extras up the order for the next test. He had a decent innings for them.

H_B
Lyth's failure will be masked by the Aussie collapse. Another waft outside off He shouldn't be playing in this thread. He's looked completely Australian all series... Not like we didn't all call it.

Bobby Skidmarks
Lyth failing again. He seems to have a problem with knowing his off stump is. It's the same nicks over and over. Basic stuff at this level, he's obviously wasted a very good opportunity to cement a place where England don't have much depth. Get him out and give Hales a go at the Oval.
H_B
If Australia can't bat on it, how are England going to bat on it? Pretty well actually !

Savage Henry
Wow. Well played England. A lead of 214 with six wickets left. A quite staggering first day. I missed all but ten overs of it.

peasy23
I was baffled that the Aussies swapped the Marsh brothers over, you know it was an awful selection decision when David Warner ends up bowling. Dreadful batting again from them, some terrific bowling from Broad but 8/10 caught behind tells you that there was more than a few playing at something they should have left. Clarke could be gone before the last test.
Savage Henry
Stuart Broad. Just when you want to drop him for good, he bowls like some kind of insane god. His numbers are actually surprisingly good - he could eventually surpass Anderson's record. Otis Gibson probably gets his contract renewed. Just seen Stokes catch for the first time too... that's up there with Jonty Rhodes.
kerrdavidson95
I can't remember Ponting getting barracked so much when his mob were on the brink of losing the Ashes.
Savage Henry
I can't remember Ponting getting barracked so much when his mob were on the brink of losing the Ashes. Ponting kind of redeemed himself towards the end. He got so much stick from the England fans. Clarke's a decent chap, he doesn't need that redemption. Australia were overwhelming favourites for this Ashes, Ponting's team wasn't. And also, because Australians.
peasy23
I can't remember Ponting getting barracked so much when his mob were on the brink of losing the Ashes. In 2005? They didn't get horsed as badly as they have here, that series could have easily swung the other way. Ponting also scored a decent amount of runs, Clarke's form is so bad he would struggle to get picked if he wasn't captain. To be fair to him, he had to rush to prove his fitness prior to the world cup and he might be suffering from that now.
Mark Connolly
Stuart Broad. Just when you want to drop him for good, he bowls like some kind of insane god. His numbers are actually surprisingly good - he could eventually surpass Anderson's record. Otis Gibson probably gets his contract renewed. Just seen Stokes catch for the first time too... that's up there with Jonty Rhodes. The commentators were saying just that about Broad all day, Hussein and Botham calling him a "streaky bowler", who can go from completely average to totally unplayable in the blink of an eye.
