die hard doonhamer
Already the third highest score by a teenager in test matches for England ETA: 50 up for him now.
die hard doonhamer
And England passed 100. Hopefully the first of many 100 partnerships for this pairing.

Well, here's to another 15 years of this guy. Now for a number four and job's a good 'un.
jmothecat
Early days but fantastic to see.A draw is definitely the most likely result but get to a lead of 250-300 quickly enough tomorrow and it will put a bit of pressure on the India batsmen. Less than a full day to bowl out India on that pitch doesn't look likely but they've given themselves a chance.
peasy23
Given how cautious Cook has been with declarations in the past I'll be surprised if India are batting any time before the early afternoon.
topcat(The most tip top)
At 31 and 36 not out he's currently got a test average of 67Cook is only 46.87 He needs 2 more runs before he's out tomorrow to stay ahead of Cook
Savage Henry
Hameed out for 82, off what was clearly a no ball. Stokes pushed up the order, so half an hour of smashing it all over the place, a lead of 300 odd, and try and make India suffer a little. Whenever Cook declares, this is ending in a draw.
jmothecat
Can't really see this as anything other than a draw. 49 overs to take ten wickets.

peasy23
6 down now, India hanging on by their fingernails.
jmothecat
Good effort, lots of positives from that and despite being a fairly high scoring affair in which a draw looked highly likely it was an entertaining test match.

England have an opener, two genuine international spinners and a wicketkeeper who isn't all that terrible with the gloves. If Duckett makes runs at 4, they could be on to a winner.
peasy23
Another drubbing through the night for Australia as they lost 8 wickets for 40 runs to lose the latest test to the Saffers by an innings and 80 runs.

Bearwithme
I don't follow what they're doing that closely but Australia seem to have had a remarkable decline.
Bearwithme
Jimmy Anderson may come back into the England team particularly as Woakes reportedly has a knee knock.
peasy23
Good start by England this morning with early wickets for Broad and Anderson, but Kohli and Pujara have taken India from 22-2 to 212-2, just resumed after tea which was taken early as a dog was running around the pitch.
