Consistently lets the run rate get out of hand. I think it was the right call from India to go with these two before him. That's sort of the point though. This is not being a finisher. This is not losing your wicket and masterminding an innings

It is like when Shahid Afridi was declining, the Pakistan support were expecting him to smash 50 off the last 7 or 8 overs every time whereas the reality was usually smack a couple of 4s then send a shot down the throat of a fielder at cow corner. Sometimes though he still pulled it out the bag & you would not bet against MSD doing similar in a situation like this.
Savage Henry
Pant and Pandya are both explosive guys but not usually ones you’d see stick through an innings. I honestly was surprised Dhoni never came in before Pandya.Dhoni’s performances this World Cup have been idiosyncratic at best. I’m not sure if he’s quite got the trust of management at this point.

Sir Tarmo Kink
Pandya goes... any glimmer of hope is now totally gone for India.
KingswellsRed
Pandya getting all the criticism but with the rate getting well above 7, shots had to be played at some point. Don’t think this is a pitch where you can expect to get 100 off 10 overs.
Ro Sham Bo
New Zealand had West Indies similarly on the ropes in the group stages and nearly lost that. It's not a given that they'll finish this off.
KingswellsRed
Jadeja the last chance for India
ScottishZizou
Regardless of the end result this has been inspired stuff from Jadeja. Turned this back in to a contest
Savage Henry
New Zealand could very well Scotland/Hibs this. Or to be fairer to India, they could very well Argentina/almost anyone this.
Guest Moomintroll
Some bit of fielding from Guptill there.

FuzzyBear
Dhoni getting 50 off 72 balls in that situation is bizarre.
ScottishZizou
The most confusing bit was between 5 and 2 overs left. Dhoni and Jadeja played it perfectly until that point
Sir Tarmo Kink
And that’s that. Great by Jadeja towards the end but there was far too much to do for India. Got to say well done to the NZ bowlers. I have no idea how NZ have ended up in the final but they have, so good luck to them and I’d like to see them win.
Guest Moomintroll
I will be singing along to various karaoke classics in Rhyl all day tomorrow & at some point will desecrate John Denver or Don McLean's musical legacy. Hope that England get their bowling tactics right & sort out the vile Warner & his cohorts. I will be all about Kilmarnock F.C tomorrow however.
topcat(The most tip top)
Those of us who begrudged NZ edging Pakistan to 4th after they got a rained off point against India will have to give them a bit more credit after that. In fact even actual Pakistanis will have had their spirits lifted by watching their neighbours get their arses handed to them by a rugby obsessed country with a population smaller than Hyderabad
die hard doonhamer
Australia win the toss and bat at Edgbaston. That puts them as strong favourites.
Guest Moomintroll
Great start, get the odious one out quickly now & the Aussies will be struggling.
