Bold Rover
An all-day event at work today means I had to pack my bag for PFS this morning (I'm going to Glasgow tonight). Can anyone suggest things I might have forgotten... Remembered your numbers, for bike and shirt? There's not that much else you need. I'll have a spare tube and some basic tools but with stops every ten miles or so you don't need to carry much.
The Master
I almost forgot the numbers A spare tube makes sense I suppose, but like you said you're never more than 5 miles from a repair station - even if it means turning around. The Master
Yup - but I did almost forget it. For the record, I'm not an especially forgetful person and I know what I do and don't need for something like this. But needing to pack the bag a day in advance along with what was needed for work made it difficult to focus
Fifespud
Some what foolishly I've just changed my chain. What could go wrong?
Fifespud
Evening - re PFS - anybody know if you can put a bag of street clothes on some sort of transport in Glasgow and pick it up in Edinburgh?
Newbornbairn
Not heard of anything like that.
The Master
Just arrived at my hotel and there's already 20 or so bikes in their back room
flyingscot
On a whim and because it is a nice day gonna do pfs today. Just heading off now.
Newbornbairn
Well, that was fun! Note to self - don't fit new brakes the night before a big ride. Damn near killed myself on a tight bend on a downhill outside Linlithgow
The Master
Just finished. Strava reports a ride time of 3hr41 which just about tallies with my watch - it showed 4.20 and I had about 37 minutes of stops.

Well done.
ham89
3:39 here by the strava clock. My mate was struggling a bit on the hills but i wasn't intending on leaving him. Had a cracking day out on the bike, well worth the effort.
flyingscot
Good effort. Strava has me down for 3 hours 32mins which seems about right.
Newbornbairn
3h 15 here, which is 20 minutes faster than last year. Dead chuffed with that considering I've only been out about half a dozen times in the last couple of months. Not dead yet then
Count Mongo del Fantastico
3 hours 47 of moving and 4 hours 28 total. Incredibly happy with that since it's the furthest I've ever ridden.
Bold Rover
I'm not much interested in timing myself - too old for that - but a cracking day out. Well organised, great food, good craic. And improved road closure arrangements, I believe.
The Master
Have to say, today was one of the best rides I've had in a long time (bike rides, you filthy-minded people ). It all seemed to go in really quickly and at no point was I desperate for a feed station to have rest. The fantastic weather undoubtedly helped.

Fifespud
Great day - some really nice parts of the course. Pretty brutal - very windy - and somewhat into your face in bits. Strava says 6 hours 41 minutes. Hopefully just under 7 hours on the chip because I had 9 minutes of stops. Never managed to catch on to any peletons - which might have made a difference. A but pooped now!! All in all glad I did it - early start from North Fife - kudos to my missus for dropping me off and picking me up. And to you guys and Bold Rover in particular for selling it to me. Cheers.
