lichtie23
Speith and Fowler were pretty grim viewing. I see Fleetwood got an ace on 17 yesterday. Good to see. Not a fan of either of them. Speith is a shadow of his former self.

Distant Doonhamer
3 putted from about 8 feet, you would never have thought that possible a few years back.It looks like Russell Knox 5 putted the first for a triple bogey 7!!! Recovered pretty well to shoot one over for the round which is a great effort after such an early disaster.
lichtie23
Rory spraying his drives all over the shop early. Brooks still doesn’t look right either
Mr Hahn
I have bets on Fleetwood, Sunjae Im (EW) and Matt Fitzpatrick (EW) so looking forward to this evening's viewing and glad Im got off to a decent start. Would like to echo the previous post on Beem, fantastic presence on the broadcast. McGinley is pretty painful. Edit to add: The green at 17 looks awful considering the overall nick of the course. Ro Sham Bo
Just came on to comment about the state of that green. For the signature hole of a showpiece event that's a tad embarrassing.

Mr Hahn
Looks like the Masters isn't happening either: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/golf/51875513 This article says both "cancelled" and "postponed" so not entirely clear if it's not happening or they're going to try and rearrange it. Ro Sham Bo
Looking forward to all the majors being scrapped for the year in order to ensure there's still room for the FedEx play offs in August.

Edit: Quote in article says postpone. FS BBC Biggest problem with Augusta is that the course turns brown in the summer, and there is no way that AGNC will allow that to be shown on TV. Because of that and the heat it usually closes from May to October anyway. That would mean they would have to wait until October/November for it to regain it's colour. That's it then holding the Masters twice in 5 or 6 months, and it's hard to see the members accepting that too.
doulikefish
Thought Augusta didnt have members in the traditional sense but only those that are invited?Anyway ive visited Augusta in mid August and it was still green and lush Biggest problem with Augusta is that the course turns brown in the summer, and there is no way that AGNC will allow that to be shown on TV. peasy23
And the Ryder Cup being moved to 2021That will actually work out better long term, gets it back on odd years and keeps it away from Olympic years. ETA: both the European and US Ryder Cup Twitter accounts dismissed the reports as inaccurate.
DigOutYourSoul
Good thing about having a hobby like golf. You can still socially distance on the course and keep playing, until we go into full lockdown. Our course have made the hole only an inch deep to make retrieving the ball nice and easy without touching anything but your ball, and all bunkers are out of play to stop the need for rakes.

I don't usually get to play many comps until the football season is done, but we have a Stableford tourney on Saturday, looking forward to it as the forecast is decent.I do fear that lockdown isn't too far away though, but imo we could still play even if the clubhouse has to be closed.

Players are expected to smooth sand with club and foot after playing the bunker shot. Pins are not to be removed and we’ve been told not to touch other players’ balls (ooh err matron!)
