John Lambies Doos
If they manage not to blow their 51 point lead in the 2nd leg then yesOof, we really have a tough group then, ireland and Japan will be very tough not to mention Samoa

At least we have Russia before the 4 day turnaround. I think if that had been Romania it would have been even tougher, but we should be able to put the reserves out for that one and have a fresh first team to play Japan.

I accept that of all the home nations, a Gregor Townsend Scotland would be the one most likely to lose to Japan and/or Samoa.
honestly united
Samoa have won 1 game in about 20, not a patch on the side they once were

Mark Connolly
The major leagues all being shut down for the RWC means Samoa should be able to select their top guys, but there are no guarantees. They are always tough opponents, and Japan at home will be difficult too. Ireland have gone through a run recently with all their big guns keeping fit, you would think they can't keep that going, plus Australia showed they aren't quite as invulnerable as they looked in the 6N.
ajwffc
A 26-3 win for Hong-Kong over the Cook Islands gives them the advantage in the Oceania/Asia playoff for the repechage tournament. The winner will join Canada, Germany(unless they perform a miracle v Samoa) and the 2018 African Gold Cup runner up
Northsea80
The warriors/sru meeting with the fans group postponed again. Nathan Bombrys has suggested that Glasgow have offered an alternative to the SRU regarding the final 1872 fixture but didn’t give details of what that alternative was. On another note. There’s nothing to suggest that the Pro 14 would give this SRU initial proposal for the 3rd 1872 game to be at Murrayfield again the go ahead anyway! I can’t imagine the other teams in Edinburgh’s conference next season would be too pleased at Edinburgh having an extra home game. Might be a few complaints about that.
Jeek
Would they play it somewhere 'up north' to try to generate the interest up there? Bad for us fans of those clubs, but from a bigger picture perspective it may be something they would try.
Northsea80
It’s in the warriors interest to have it played in Glasgow. It should be their 11th home game of the season.

I wonder if they would consider Hampden / Ibrox / Parkhead for the last game - still in Glasgow so more of a home game, but opportunity for a much bigger crowd than Scotstoun, potential for 25,000 attendance
Northsea80
I’m hoping that’s the alternative that Glasgow have proposed to the SRU. Wouldn’t mind it being at any one of those venues. Celtic Park is apparently hosting the Pro 14 final next season so a good test event prior to Glasgow rocking up a few weeks later for the final.
come on shire
Henry Pyrgos is off to Edinburgh. I KNEW that Richard Cockerill was obsessed with us.
ChrisMFCfan1886
A real shame for Glasgow as pyrgos was actually hitting quite a bit of good form in the latter half of last season. You can definitely tell which club is the priority for the SRU now
Jaggy Snake
Surprising news as it was rumoured Ali Price would make the switch, which would have made more sense. I agree Pyrgos had come into some decent form, and Price obviously lost his. Horne and Price are different players but both like to take risks whereas Pyrgos always felt like a safer pair of hands. There’s still plenty of time but it would be nice to see Glasgow make a couple of strong signings as there isn’t much to get excited about for next season at the moment..
come on shire
Rumour has it someone is moving to the opposite end of the M8 as a swap. If true, I've heard Magnus Bradbury on the rumour mill. It was the lack of a tough back row that lost us the play-off as you need to be prepped for a physical arm wrestle in these games. We've signed the American back row but still need more depth imo.
honestly united
Glasgow have hardly made any signings at all this year, i think its only 2. Pyrgos going is a lose, but having 3 of the top 4 Scottish Scrum halfs at one club is hardly ideal. From a Scotland perspective it makes sense. Is Blair still coaching at Glasgow or is he only doing Scotland now?
Mark Connolly
Not sure how to feel about it tbh. Great move for him as he'll probably be first choice at Lesser Murrayfield, but I was a big fan of him coming on to close games out for Glasgow. He'll also be great for Edinburgh in terms of bringing on Charlie Shiel. As for Bradbury coming the other way, it has been doing the rounds, but with no real sources to back it up. Other than Edinburgh signing Hamilton, there doesn't seem to be any reason for it either.

Horne are explosive players who play fast and close to the edge. Ideal for the bulk of the game or chasing the scoreboard at the end. However Pyrgos has a more defensive mindset ideal for calming us down when we're winning a tight game in the closing stages or even just generally shoring up the defence at the back end of the game.
Detournement
Pyrgos is useful as a kicker as well as being a handy scrum half. Glasgow currently have P Horne, Hastings and Hogg who can kick.
