Think it was more a precaution they took him off, seemingly a calf strain, but Murray McCallum has been called up as a precaution. Brown back in the squad as he starts training again today. Noticed the 7's team went from finishing 5th to finish 2nd last equal this week, not winning a game. On Laidlaw I think he is a cracking scrum half, but his service could be a lot quicker. At the moment as the backrow are not the most mobile (compared to what we had) Laidlaw suits a bit better, but when we had Barclay at 8, Watson and Hardie as wing forwards I thought Horne (at the time Price as well, but he's really gone off the boil) was a better option as he could really speed the pace of the game up.

Scotland missed out on a try against Italy in the first half, as I recall, specifically because of Laidlaw's dillydallying.

John Lambies Doos
Bit of fun but who do you take greatest pleasure in beating in six Nations, my order is Wales, Ireland, England, France then Italy. 20yrs ago it would have been England but for some reason that's definitely changed

The Irish fans are hugely annoying while it's hard to take the Welsh fans seriously but Gatland makes up for it.

Totally get your point about Warburton, I used to despise Brian Moore but now think he's a top top bloke.
John Lambies Doos
10 changes to Welsh line up, brave by Gatland in fairness. Italys first home match so they will be well up for it. However I fully expect Oshea to lose again
GAD
Team is out for Saturday, probably as expected. Good to see Brown back, but the bench still looks very weak. Rough on Kinghorn, but Maitland is the better player right now.
Detournement
Strong looking team. Kinghorn will be disappointed to drop out but Maitland has been in great form for 12 months. Edited February 7, 2019 by Detournement
honestly united
team as expected, hadn't realised Hardie, Horne jr and Lee Jones were all ruled out due to injury. Graham being replaced by Harley is also a strange shout given we have no opensides in the team at all, looks like we just capped him vs Italy, then dropped him just to spite Eddie Jones
Detournement
I like the Harley pick. He has excellent maul defence which will probably be a big factor in the second half. His form this season has been superb. The Ireland team looks weaker on paper but Farrell is a best who take some stopping. We can definitely get some joy out of that back 3 and hopefully Sean O'Brien is undercooked.

same_ol_g35
Nel is the biggest loss. Without him the front row will obviously be weaker. I just hope the ref isn't one of those who gives all the scrum penalties the way of the perceived "stronger front row" you see it all the time. Mako Vunipola comes to mind, routinely drops the scrum under pressure and seems to get away with it or even gets the penalty. Does my tits in when I see it.
