LCD, Hogg, DVM, Furlong (horrible missed tackle early on aside) and Daly decent as well. Henshaw bit rusty but OK and Conan not too bad either. Sutherland a bit ropy and Adams having a fucking mare for me.
Mark Connolly
Marcus Smith has done really well too, a couple of kicks a bit too long, but he and Price are a really exciting pairing

Lots of moaning when he was called up, but he's been great. I moaned when he was called up but that was because I thought he was Jake Ball.
GAD
Duhan takes the ball five yards out facing his own line and every single time ends up 10 meters forward. Hard to see how Gatland can ignore that.
Mark Connolly
I'd never second guess Gatland, but if Ali Price hasn't done enough to at least be on the bench next week, I'd be extremely disappointed.

Though it does feel on the last two tours that Gatland started both first tests with the "media" team before saying "f**k it" and picking who he actually wanted in test 2 and 3.

Mark Connolly
It's probably just as well there is no midweek game, the selection meeting is going to take about 5 days on its own.

Ignoramus
And there was me hoping to see some Scots in the test match XV . I know he’s likely to start but Conor Murray Edited July 18, 2021 by Ignoramus
GAD
Some of the pundit picks have been absolutely baffling. Vunipola has been one of the worst players on tour, yet he's in every team. The whole thing with Tom Curry as well, where we have to just accept he's playing and never question it, despite Watson being better than him on the tour, but also in the last 6 nations. Even there, Dawson whittering on about Williams "facing test match intensity opposition", yeah, for about 10 minutes where he got fucking smacked twice, turned over once, and went off injured.
John Lambies Doos
Matt Dawson is terrible, wouldn't give a flying shite what he says. I feel 3 Scots will start and we will have 2 on bench.Starters HoggWatsonHarris or VDM,. Wouldn't completely rule out both starting. Unfortunately due to their positions they either start or don't feature at all.BenchPrice (fully deserves to start)Sutherland.

ajwffc
Dawson must of missed the six nations "Tom Curry is probably the world's best seven at the moment. He has probably been inked in the team for most of the year and Gatland will be chuffed to bits that he has come through fit."

Just saw a stat that after yesterday’s game Hogg has played more minutes on this tour than Williams. I doubt Gatland will ignore the Scottish players but if he goes full Matt Dawson is it petty and parochial to hope they get pumped in the first test?

I wouldn't rule out VDM either, but I think he might miss the first test and be a bit of a "bring out in case of emergency" pick. If we get well beaten in the first test, and especially if we look absolutely toothless in the process, then I can see VDM coming in for the second. For the first test it's still hard for me to see beyond Hogg, Williams/Adams and Watson.
