Probably inevitable given their recent success, but still sad to see. SRU won’t be giving a shite either as Edinburgh are improving.

come on shire
Jonny Gray's a great player but not really been anywhere near as influential for country/club this season so here's hoping a change of scene does him good. Good news about Naka but it's only a stop-gap till the end of the season. True success will be getting a 2 year deal out of him imo. Hopefully he won't be as expensive. I doubt you can command a big wage when you've been sacked for going AWOL.
come on shire
Rory Hughes loaned to Leicester Tigers till the end of the season. He's had no luck with injury so needs game time. I won't be surprised if he leaves Glasgow altogether tbh.

From what information i can find online Edinburgh Rugby has a player budget of £4.8m, while Glasgow Warriors operates on approximately £5.1 million. The Irish sides have a player budget of about £7m each the Welsh are about £5m each (Dragons are lower than the other 3)
Mark Connolly
Byron McGuigan has turned into a right angry wee man since he went to Sale.

I know Glasgow fans pay more, does anyone have the current figures for both teams? Why the disparity? Is it down to Glasgow having to pay to use Scotstoun?

Mark Connolly
Great start from Glasgow, kept the ball for 3 minutes before getting Steyn free on the edge and Johnson then scoring off the inside ball.
Mark Connolly
And another good try off a stopped lineout drive. Another good line by Steyn

Mark Connolly
And that's a penalty - they break off and take Peter Horne out before the first ball carrier gets anywhere near the line
