Was a bit surprised to see Tim visser who was omitted from Scotland squad due to injury turning out for Harlequins in Anglo welsh cup. Even more surprised to see he was at full back....he cist his side a try with am awful missed tackle them butchered a try by dropping the ball on the line

Australian press reported possibility of a game in 2019 between the All Blacks and the Kangaroos that NZ Rugby seems to be putting the kybosh on. Wouldn’t be surprised if it does eventually happen as there will be a shit-load of money up for grabs.

The caley reds highlights are on their Facebook page if anyone fancies it. The ref from that game will be officiating at murrayfield tomorrow. He wasn't bad but he did miss a lot of stuff especially at the ruck area. Would rather a right pernickety ref who will clamp down on Samoa's off the ball / cheap shot / armless hits.

Big upset in RLWC as Tonga beat NZ 28-22 after trailing 2-16 at HT. Tonga’s first ever win over NZ and they finish top of the group

How does that affect the knock out stages? Was it mean Australia v NZ in the semis (possibly)?

At least they didn't lose by 60 points again.

Yes. Played quite well by all accounts, a bit of pride regained.

Not sure what Scotland can do to secure more regular competitive matches outside of World Cups. That is probably what would be required for genuine long-term improvement.

Glorious failure seeps into another Scottish sport .

That's really gutting actually.

It also means we'll have to go through qualifying for RLWC 2021.

Not sure we'll have many big games either, regardless, as there's talk of scrapping Four Nations.

Group A
Australia 34-0 Lebanon

Group B
NZ 22-28 Tonga
Samoa 14-14 Scotland

Group D
Fiji 38-10 Italy

QFs:

Australia v Samoa
NZ v Fiji
Tonga v Lebanon*
England* v PNG/Ireland

*assuming France don't shock England

Get the league world cup binned.
An utter farce of whole teams made up of Aussies.

Certainly needs a huge rethink. The format is crazy and the eligibility thing is farcical compared to other sports. The world cup is a pretty amateurish affair m that's reflected in the attendances.
