None that I've found in my NE odysseys. Always prefer Scotch or Exhibition on draft. Champion pints.

Clinked bottles with a pal to say “cheers” and smashed a chunk out of the bottom of the bottle. Not wanting any to go to waste I guzzled the rest from the broken bit of the bottle, horrifying some patrons with the state of my bloodied mouth. Still classier that drinking it from a can though. I think it was invented in my underage carry out days. Glass bottle always. Upon graduation to pub drinking, draught beer was essential.

As a teen it looked like a good value for money purchase.

Have heard of this being popular in more traditional boozers in the northeast. Assuming it's akin to 80/- or similar?

Assuming it's akin to 80/- or similar? It’s darker. Like a stronger, maltier export. A tremendous pint if you get a good one. The cans used to be not too bad as well. Asda used to do them years ago but not sure if you can get it up here these days. Cans were blue instead of red (like the export).
The Minertaur
I went to the vending machine at work and saw what I thought was a can of Irn Bru with 37% sugar. Got all excited as hadn't seen a can of the proper stuff for a while. I got a bit excited which turns out to have been a huge mistake.... It's horrendous and possibly the most disgusting fizzy drink I've ever tried.
