  1. Glenrothes is a cesspit. I'm always initially amazed at how many people from Kirkcaldy haven't been to Glenrothes, but then quickly remember why that's the case. Rovers get almost zero support from Glenrothes because it's rammed full of brain dead Rangers fans. An absolute shite hole with no redeeming features.
  2. There'll definitely be a wee bit of budget left for January. We love a winter loan spree.
  3. Rovers fans are about 90% arseholes tbh. No one should be surprised by any of this.
  4. I reckon you could go zero stewards at almost every home game this year with no incidents. There's the occasional arsehole that tries to get on the pitch and that but 99% wouldn't even notice.
  5. I worked as a steward for G4S for a few months when I was between jobs and it's fucking shite. You're given literally zero training; here's your jacket, stand here, don't move. The majority of the people doing it are really, really stupid and a few of that group also take it very seriously - that's the group you've to watch for. They essentially paid me (poorly) to watch a load of Hibs and Hearts games last January and February. Got to work the Edinburgh derby where Hibs pulled it back from 2-0 at Tynecastle and then the subsequent replay. The easiest cash you'll ever make.
  6. I have to say i'm a big, big fan of Callachan, Matthews and Vaughan all being fucking excellent each week. We've had many a discussion on here about whether or not the youth academy is worth it, but it's obviously put to bed now. Seeing your own youngsters come through and be instrumental in winning games gives me a great deal of pride. Also great to see them all enjoying playing football again, as demonstrated by Bobby Barr and Ross Callachan towards the end of the video - a stark contrast from the total doom and gloom of last season. Can't wait for the season proper to start now, brimming with optimism.
  7. Hyperbole shite. It's literally the same as buying anything from anywhere. Go to the right place and exchange cash for goods.
  8. Handling will be a good player for Dumbarton, as long as they don't want him to play as part of a midfield two as he does next to no defending. Good Championship attacking midfielder though; thought someone a bit higher up the league would've taken a punt on him.
  9. Am I right in saying that SuperHans is a club employee? Didn't he say that in his infamous PM to Bambino? Find it a bit mental that someone on the payroll at the club is on a very popular fans forum slating one of the players..?
  10. Probably gone up another £25k after that free kick tonight tbqhwy.
  11. It was Davidson. He went in way too aggressively, then got booked for the lip he gave to ref afterwards. So that's a short back pass in the game against Edinburgh City which lead to a goal, penalties given away against Clyde and Dundee Utd and the stupid free kick which lead to the Dundee winner last night. I'm not a Davo basher, but that's a worrying trend in anyone's book.
  12. Whit!? He was our best player last night. Broke play up with several, and I really mean several interceptions and tackles. In a game where the other team have most the ball, that's his primary role and he did it very well.
  13. Ach, that's really not that many, £10,000 worth. And who's to say that all of those 40 would buy a season ticket if they had their life one taken off them? It's been done to death, it's old ground. Everyone can see both sides. Moot point.
  14. I think Callachan as captain is a great move, obviously. Another blow to those who give him abuse week in week out. Must really stick in their craw to see a homegrown player come right through the youth system to captain the side.
  15. I thought the inverted commas would've been enough to portray what I meant.
  16. Really enjoyable 90 minutes last night, thought the whole team did well and it was great to see the chemistry between the front three. Would've been nice to see Spence get off the mark but I'm sure it'll come for him. I think it's noticeable that he's the one that didn't play full time football last season, but that sharpness will come back with time. Callachan and Robertson were excellent in the middle of the park, kept the ball and Ross in particular picked out a few excellent forward passes to Vaughan. Vaughan's finish was obviously pleasing on the eye but I enjoyed Matthews' the most. Bullied the number 15 off the ball, strode forwards and zipped it into the bottom corner from 20 yards. Who is the number 5 at the back for the Pars? Trying a Zidane turn on the edge of his own box is perhaps not the greatest move for a centre half. Not getting too excited because it's a friendly, but pleasing to see nonetheless.
