  1. Surely getting towards contact extension time? If offered right now, I’d take a McGlynn extension. Whilst walking away from the Ayr 0-4 game after 65 minutes played, I’d have accepted his resignation at 5:30pm. Having had time to really think about it I’d keep him for another term. Who else are we going to get, genuinely? Please give names. There is literally almost no one I’d rather have. If we could persuade Jack Ross to take the position then that’d be a suitable replacement, but given he has reportedly turned down Aberdeen and St. Mirren, the chances of him accepting the post in Kirkcaldy are surely almost zero. It’s also been alluded to that had we mixed up the results this year and ended up exactly where we are right now, no one would have too much to complain about. Eleven games without a win is undoubtedly terrible, but if you’d been offered a guaranteed shot at the playoffs and a cup final before the season started, who would’ve turned that down? The Goodwillie thing has been done to death, so I won’t go over old ground, you can make your own mind up. For me, there isn’t another candidate as qualified and as well suited to taking us forward as John McGlynn.
  2. That being mirrored is annoying me more than it should.
  3. Why the f**k are we tweeting that? Honest to fucking god.
  4. There’s been a lot of love for Poplatnik from seemingly everyone lately. I’m going to be brutally honest, I simply do not see what others are seeing. Are folk just wanting him to get a shot because he’s been on the bench for so long? Or do they genuinely think he’s good? If so, what is it he’s good at? Because he’s not quick, strong, good at finishing, doesn’t hold it up, run in behind or put defenders off. We have 1 win, 6 draws and 5 defeats in league games Varian hasn't started. 8 wins, 6 draws, 2 defeats when he has.
  5. You’re right, very weird. There was no abuse whatsoever prior to him scoring, and I’d never heard of him before today. Fair play for the commitment to shithousery, though.
  6. Having though about it, you’re right. End of the season is the right time to do it. But it renders the rest of the league games pointless - but that’s been the case for the last 3 or 4 weeks anyway.
  7. Genuinely had chances, which is the most annoying thing about today. Ben Williamson, who I’ve seen enough of, missed two easy ones at 0-0. One when he’s in on goal and another when he completely misses the ball when it was cut back to him. We then concede 3 goals and the game is over. Come out in the second half and miss another 3 simple, simple chances and Ayr then score a 4th. The finishing is letting us down week after week after week.
  8. Textbook that I won’t be able to go to the final. Missed the Rangers one sitting in A&E at the ERI, too. Hopefully that’s a good omen, albeit it shite for me, personally. Tonight was great but we need to use it as a springboard for the league. Tonight will mean nothing if we don’t pick up 3 points from Ayr. That being said… tonight was great. The system proved itself to be a hit and the subs undoubtedly swung the game in our favour. Arnott is really starting to give me good vibes, has looked handy every time I’ve seen him and has now grabbed his first goal. I’m sure Regan Hendry called him “the best player he had ever seen at his age” when he was still here last year. I actually think Matthews is looking to pick our Zanatta at the first goal, but Dario makes such a bad attempt at finding space that Matthews has no option but to just take on the shot. Great finish, though. One of those ones where you knew it was in as soon as it left his boot, sat right behind it and the keeper was never getting near it. Ethan Ross was a nuisance when he came on, lively and sharp. Will need another look at the penalty but we were due a decision after the pathetic decision to give the foul against Varian in the first half. Never felt confident in Bene scoring the penalty but great desire to get it forced over the line. Well worth the trip.
  9. I think we can feel pretty hard done by. Goal chalked off for f**k all and probably been the better side.
  10. It’s not the “bottom line” at all though, is it? In fact one of the literal “bottom lines” of the court transcript is that he is a rapist.
  11. What a weirdo. Being as up to date with my posting history as you are, please point me in the direction of where I said I wouldn’t be back til the directors were gone? The line for me was Goodwillie not playing for us. Had he stayed, as it looked like he would after the double down, then I wouldn’t have been back. Since then, I’ve chosen to accept the board’s apology and their insistence that we would see change in the near future. Please do try to not make a riproaring c**t of yourself.
  12. We had about 1450 home fans on Saturday, which is there or thereabouts of what I’d expect for a middle of the season game v Thistle. There are still some who are staying away but I’d say that the majority are back.
  13. That’s us now at about 370 odd minutes of football without a goal. We actually did well on Saturday against Thistle, correct formation and shape with everything but a goal. Would like to see the same team with Ethan Ross back in, if he’s fit, for Zanatta. If he’s not fit, then Gullan wide would be fine. Ben Williamson is probably on his last chance for a good performance before someone else needs a shot in the middle of the park, too.
  14. The system was fine yesterday, we should’ve won the game. Play like that in the next two games and we will be fine.
  15. Thought Tumilty was back to close to his best yesterday. Several marauding runs up the park, probably the fittest player in the team. Stanton was excellent, breaks up play but also a real driving force from the middle of the park, a real complete midfielder. I’d also have Connolly on the park from the start most weeks. His first touch and general ability to get us up the park and into dangerous areas is really undervalued. Zanatta is frustrating as when he is on his game we all know, like at the start of the season, he is comfortably one of the best wingers in the league, but there were several times today where I think he was hiding and not really looking for the ball. I’m also insistent that we play that formation from now on, and we never see 5 at the back ever again. That’s probably the best we have played since we beat Killie at home in about fucking November. Watched the highlights back just there. Zanatta being pushed over in the box by Foster is a penalty, no doubt. Foster knows he is wrong side and just shoulder charges his back with absolutely no attempt to play the ball. Not showing the Poplatnik chance at the end was a bit weird - the one where all he had to do was square it to a few waiting players but instead attempted a series of beyond belief Cruyff turns.
  16. Very harsh. I had about a half bottle of gin at Firhill when we beat them in the challenge cup semi final.
  17. Actually played well today, and I enjoyed the game despite it being a wee bit frustrating at times. Varian off for Poplatnik was mind a boggling sub as Varian was doing well. Two points dropped probably.
  18. Been the better team by some distance. Thistle defence has struggled with Varian.
  19. Fewer things I enjoy less than seeing Rangers fans happy, but they have deserved to go through. I’ll stop short of wishing them a congratulation.
