It's not the fans' fault, but we do have a role to play in the pricing by deciding whether we will accept it or not. If away supports at Tannadice this season continue to be healthy then prices will remain the same, and rise again in a year or two. It will also soon drive up prices for the rest of the league as other clubs realise they can get away with the same, and that cycle will repeat indefinitely until clubs see attendances drop.

You are right that in the short term clubs will have a 'pay it or don't attitude', but that can only be sustained so long if attendances take a hit and they are losing money. It's up to people to decide what they are willing to pay and it's entirely up to them, I wouldn't judge them either way. For me I refuse to pay that much so won't go.

Although my resolve may be tested come the title decider in late February...

I remember a few years ago in the L1 forum, I think it was Stenny or Montrose or someone on our thread complaining about the cost of getting in and parking at our place and the general consensus was "we know it's dear but that's that", some other fans didn't accept it, but we certainly never made a stand against it or a mass walkout in protest etc.

My personal view is, the price is the price, if fans want to go, they will, if they don't, they won't *Shrugs*

I hope he and the Rovers as a whole continue to have a good season. Get back up sooner rather than later.

    Echo this.

In an ideal world, Bright and Bevan fire the Rovers back up, we nab Bevan at the end of his deal, and the Rovers sell Bright for £1m. Sorted.

Well it was the price of unmitigated fucking disaster last year.

It's shite and embarrassing that the club would do this to visiting fans.

There should really be controls on what clubs can charge fans.

Pricing ain't the fans fault, at least home supporters of various clubs are recognising its f*cking ridiculous, as are visiting fans. but the bottom line is, that's the price, clubs will say "pay it or don't". I think we can all agree, your entry and out pies are ludicrous.

    Anyway, f*ckin inty this gang.

    thanks.

Yeah he was great, i think he only came here as a favour/for fitness as he had a lengthy lay off at the time for Liverpool.

Yep, I'm sure he came for half a season, then signed a new deal at the start of the next season but included the caveat if a fulltime higher league team came in for him, he could go.  Would be interesting to see how he done in this team or if he even fit in.  Could be the wide player answer over Josh and Lewis.

I remember he rocked up at a reserve game and he scored one of the best goals I have ever seen, he picked the ball up from inside his own half skipped by 5/6 players then smashed in from 30 yards.

He used to get some stick from fannies on The Stomp saying he is a sand dancer and when he got his move they said he wouldn't cut it at Dundee United.

guy was a class act the minute he showed up.  There was a reason he lasted 6 months and moved up the way.  The fact is, he then went higher, and has continually played at the highest level in the country for years. Out of that list I think he'd probably be the most likely (attitude wise) I'd take.

You should probably check the Council website as there are new parking restrictions around Tannadice on match days and they're being enforced quite rigorously.  There's plenty of on street parking just don't get too close to the ground.

I had looked at round about the Fairfield bowling club/fairmuir park direction and walking over. I'll have a wee look at the council website, thank you.

Interesting, I was definitely thinking a low scoring affair! Would have thought Airdrie would happily camp in and try to take a point?

Absolutely not. If Utd force Airdrie into doing that with relentless pressure then fair enough, but one thing I will say, regardless of opponent, McCabe won't change his style. We've seen it going down to 10 and being hit for 6, but he 100% won't set the team up to camp for a point. I don't really want to make a prediction for this because I wouldn't be surprised at utd winning 4 zip, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Airdrie nicked it 2-1. Should be a cracker anyway

  8. Won my district singles semi yesterday, was 6-5 down and managed to get into a wee rhythm and eventually won 21-8. Finals this Saturday at Springwells bowling club, and then the following weekend our club finals, and that's it, shelved until April. If I win, expect a cheesy gratuitous trophy pose photo 😂

Any suggestions for where to park to avoid all the roadworks around the stadium?

If you're coming from the Cumbernauld M80 side, as you come through Airdrie on the A73, once you're passed the sport centre on your right, there's an "AWAY FANS DIVERSION" in place with the yellow signs up, just as you come to the roundabout at the bottom of Motherwell street.

@Passionate does like to be Scottie McClue of the forum but it's a fair point as a reminder not too get carried away with our good start and that we still need to add to the squad with the transfer window fast approaching.

When is loan deadline this season?

Usually a month after the transfer one I THINK, although please feel free to correct me (again!) @Skyline Drifter

I joined my club too late to play in the singles and pairs competitions this season. Playing in the club rinks/fours on Sunday with the three who won the club triples last season. Club triples is at the start of September and while I'd love to play in it, it's the day before my sons birthday so unless there's a pair looking for a third player I'm also happy to not play in that.

Playing twice for the club this year in the local league so I can't really complain about anything.

Managed to scrape through in the Monklands singles, into the Semi final now, play Victoria, 2pm on Saturday @ Coatdyke  (missing the fitba 😡)

QF of my championship tonight, genuinely cant be arsed man, shite day at work, not in the mood, we know whats happening there then!!

Sounds like a decent opening season again for you, plenty to build on for next year!

Haud me back, a happy bench warmer just what we need,

Don't want to be over critical but do you think we are in for any of players mentioned and have we a working recruitment policy....   Doubtful is my answer to both....

I've always tried to keep "watching Airdrie on a Saturday" and "looking too much into club business" separate.  Like you, I dont want to be too critical, purely because many decades of shite have engrained the opinion "it could always be worse" but then I think "well why can't it be better" so I just try and let it happen, because regardless of what I think, it will happen anyway (if that makes sense)!  We probably don't know half of the players we've made offers to, or contacted which is fair enough, but my own thoughts are McCabe takes far too much pride in his job and wants to make too much of a success of being a manager to have neglected the recruitment part of the job, and as others have said, Money talks.

Either way, we need a SQUAD and not just a competitive starting 11.  We'll find out in the coming weeks if there are no reinforcements how unforgiving this league can be.
