  1. North of England scouting? Fills me with excitement and dread in equal measure. Some of Connolly’s signings? *shudder* There was some quality though. Hopefully MB unearths a few diamonds.
  2. Purely hypothetical, but if Annan are promoted there’s the possibility of WG playing against LG - having once played alongside one another. Any instances before of father/son once playing with each other then against in professional football?
  3. Was tempted to drive up today for the game, talked myself out of it and now wish I hadn’t. Many away fans in attendance? Sounds like Queens fought it out, a quality lacking for the best part of the season. Massive well done to Bartley for developing that much needed desire to win / grind out a result. Wonder how much influence he had at Livi’? Since he left them their forms been pretty poor. Anyways, well done Queens.
  4. Odd kind of game. At times messy and frustrating but there were periods of really good play from Queens. Can definitely see improvements, however, the capacity to throw a winnable game still very much exists. To focus on the positives; Cochrane’s a different player under Bartley. Always wanted the ball and largely efficient with it. Showed a bit of bite as well defensively. Brydon looked solid, really impressed with him today. And McKechnie looked decent today. Industrious, positive and a great finish to boot. Not sure what to make of the refereeing either. Think he tried to let the game flow but some decisions, for both teams, debatable. I’d like to see the penalty incident again. I thought it should have been given but need to see a replay.
  5. Completely recognise the need to temper enthusiasm, I’m just hoping this appointment makes real what Bartleys wanting from the team. Fingers crossed.
  6. Bartley comes across well , first impressions are positive. Heavily emphasises the need for consistency and effort - something we are well aware has been largely missing thus far. Clearly knows where improvements are required. Here’s hoping this appointment is the one to get the best out of this (mostly) capable squad.
  7. The boo’s were merited at half time. It was a brutal watch. Cheap goals to lose, admittedly, but to be four down at the break wouldn’t have been a disservice to Falkirk. Just horribly disjointed. A lot of Queens issues stemmed from no obvious central midfield partnership. Cochrane and Gibson were miles apart at times, leaving space all around which either Falkirk exploited (easily) or left others trying to fill in (which gave reason to no obvious system/formation and players unsure of roles). Agree that Cochrane was at least trying. Gibson had a torrid time. Towards the end of the first half when we had a corner, he looked beaten with no instructions or motivation forthcoming. This was evident until the referee kindly blew for full time. Worrying - and I want it to work for him (and Queens) - but it’s just not there. As others have rightly stated, there’s no obvious formation/system and at this stage, there should be. I’m likely in the minority but Bange offered (slightly) more than Ruth. Can’t really see anything in Ruth, lost the ball continually. Then again, the game was essentially over and very little support given to him when he came on.
  8. MON is unbearable. As others have said, dull and deliberately argumentative/deflective. Tiresome.
  9. Agree. Wilson was excellent. Long may he stay fit. Midfield functioned much better without Cochrane. A fitter Hendrie also contributing much more. Some positives to build on.
  10. Those were my three main takes from today. McKenna isn’t a right back. Foolish to persevere with him there any longer. Appreciate it was late in the game when he came on, but Gibson provided much needed drive and many more options when he came on. Cochrane was dire. Solid game at Ibrox then that sorry ‘performance’ today? Beyond frustrating. Really hope Wilson can remain injury free, enabling Todd and himself to bring some purpose to central midfield. Currie just doesn’t inspire much confidence. Although he didn’t do too much wrong bar the first goal - I thought he should have done better. Anyways. Well done Dunfermline, you easily deserved the 3 points.
  11. Misplaced optimism; 2-1 Queens. Somehow, the mid-week game instills a little confidence.
  12. Absolutely. Hoping he has more presence and solidity about him than what’s been evident in defence so far. Fingers crossed.
  13. The only other game I’ve seen this season was the Annan game. Unfair for me to be as negative regarding Quitongo, I suppose. East at LB may be an option but I’d rather see him in the centre.
  14. Arrived at Palmerston with a smidgen of optimism for the season. Left swamped in pessimism. Massive well done to Clyde. You were excellent. 2-2 would have been hugely unfair, you deserved that win and more. Queens? Where do you start? All over the place, back to front. RB issues were obvious but LB problematic too. A real naivety over Quitongo’s positional sense in my opinion. In fact, real naivety in defence full stop. And from there, it fell to pieces. Shocking.
  15. Just bought a wee van for general use. Only tax and test to the end of this month. Mate is going to MOT it next week - can I tax it just with the new keeper supplement from the old V5, or do I need the updated V5 which could take a few weeks once I have the MOT certificate and insurance docs? Cheers.
  16. Not sure if she's been added before, but Michelle "Haven't I done well for myself?" Mone is well worthy of this thread. On Off the Ball at the moment, and she does my head in for many, many reasons.
  17. Just watched Fargo again (remember watching it when it was first out a while ago) - Hilarious! Funnier the second time. 8/10
