  1. Tyler Bass practicing punts at HT, you'd always think going from kicker to punter easier than the other way around but still difficult. Will probably see a lot more 4th down aggression in marginal cases. Edit : now Sam Martin is back out and trying to punt with his dodgy hamstring (it's his non kicking leg he injured)
  2. Just when you think Buffalo are going to do it the easy way, the field goal was optimistic at best into the wind and the punter getting injured changes the dynamic of the game as well as putting the Steelers on the board. Up to that point it had been more or less perfect but between that and the injuries at linebacker and corner back where backups were already starting it's not over yet.
  3. Game definitely on but can't imagine being in the stands will be much fun.
  4. This is objectively funny now.
  5. You're correct on all of those. We're a very unremarkable team in the Scottish Cup, we almost never beat teams in leagues above us and almost always beat teams in leagues below us. In addition to those mentioned, in the last 35 years the only times we've beaten a team in league above in the Scottish Cup were St Mirren at Love St in 1989 (2nd tier vs 1st) and Livi at home in 1999 (3rd tier vs 2nd) The only upsets we've been on the wrong end of in that time were Cowdenbeath at home in 1993 (2nd tier vs 1st) and Dundee away in 1995 (same, though barely a shock give they were flying in the 2nd tier and we were struggling in the league above) Regarding this game, winning 83-0 wouldn't be revenge for the playoffs and I think the players that are still here know that too. Graham has been due to be dropped for a while now and I think this might be the game where it happens, I've been quite down on Robinson but by all accounts he was good off the bench vs Morton and neither Alston nor McInroy have been up to much of late so he could start as well. Still a few days for Adams to play lower league English signing roulette, so not sure how County will line up or what will happen here jk, obvs it's County 2 (Murray 90+5, 120+2) 2-1 Thistle (Adeloye, 88)
  6. Think there have to be large questions about the Dolphins being flat track bullies with a 10-1 record against teams who didn't make the playoffs and 1-6 (inc vs KC yesterday ) vs those who did; yes there were injuries at the end but not the whole season. I actually don't mind McDaniel but I can see how his "corny nerd" shtick would wind folk up. As you say he also seems to outthink himself a lot. The pieces are definitely there for Miami but I still think the QB is one you can win with, not one who wins you games on his own.
  7. I don't know what is a handball any more but the Broadfoot one is of the type you see given quite a lot where the arm is away from the body. I don't think the Stanway one is as clear cut from the camera angle we have as most people seem to think, the reaction of Robinson and Adeloye suggests it was a foul though. The Crawford dive was hilariously bad, probably escaped a yellow on artistic merit. Morton disallowed goal looks just offside but again from a 45 degree camera angle its hard to tell anything other than positions of feet.
  8. Bills reporter for the Athletic says Tuesday hasn't been ruled out. Will depend on whether they can get the roads cleared I think. If the league had moved it to another venue (Atlanta was rumoured) and the weather had turned out to be OK they would have got shit for that as well.
  9. I'm normally loath to say NFL games are over but hard to see a way back into this one for the Browns, suppose a fairytale for that franchise was always unlikely.
  10. Bills game moved to Monday evening our time. Nothing to do with the field or stadium, there is a travel ban in the area
  11. Ashcroft would take us up to 5 centre halves with Mcmillan and Milne also able to cover there so would be a bit odd unless Muirhead's injury is worse than thought or Williams is away.
  12. To be very cold in KC as well
  13. Turner is obviously very good for this level, his set pieces are almost worth playing him for on their own. As someone else said on the Raith thread he's better than what we have but we've got so many in that position the budget is best spent elsewhere. Assume we're still looking for a winger but don't see much else in the way of incoming players for January. Would like to see Lyon and Mackenzie go out on loan but with the 9 subs on the bench they might well be kept around.
  14. Yeah I think we'll look to try and keep McInroy permanently, especially as Robinson can't be relied upon to avoid injury for more than ten minutes. Would imagine every FT club in this league will be in for him as well. I'd be OK with Muirhead as 4th choice centre half but no more. Alston has done OK but think we can do better and certainly both keepers can go. Adeloye has been unlucky to a degree in that Graham has been in good form and not got injured, and when Graham did get his guaranteed suspension that was the one time Adeloye was injured. Of course there's still plenty more time for daft red cards starting with Saturday's opponents. However I think Adeloye has only really impressed in games we've been winning when he's come on, I don't ever recall him changing a game we've been drawing or losing (he started the game where he scored vs QP at Hampden alongside Graham). Either way I don't see him being here next season. Hard to see how James Lyon makes the cut as well even if under contract, coming up on 3 years since he made his first team debut and after a brief spell at the start of this season he's fallen out the picture again. Maybe if he gets a loan in this window and shows something, I don't know.
  15. Squad under contract for next season Stewart* MacKenzie Williams O'Reilly Milne Stanway Bannigan Lawless Robinson Fitzpatrick Graham * if we take up option Also under contract : McCready , Lyon, McBeth, and the modern apprentices (Diack, Stevenson, Taggart, Turay) Out of contract: Sneddon, Mitchell, McMillan, Muirhead, Alston Loan returns: Neilson, McInroy, Ngwenya, Adeloye Realistically we're only keeping McMillan in the unlikely event we go up, he'd be an upgrade for the two sides ahead of us in the league and probably a few Premiership sides as well. Apart from that and the keeper situation there's a huge element of stability. You can look at this as a positive as it reduces uncertainty for next season or the flip side would be we've committed to a lot of players who may not be good enough to achieve promotion. I'll go with the positive angle (for now)
  16. yeah, one of the benefits of being over here NFL wise.
  17. They'll clearly never go back on number of teams in the playoffs, can even see them increasing it to 16 at some point, but agree that with the current setup 6 per conference was the ideal number. Though in the 3 years since it came in, only half of the #1 seeds have made it to the SB so maybe the solo bye isn't as big an advantage as you'd think.
  18. At home to Pittsburgh without Watt should in theory be a straightforward home win, but Buffalo have really struggled when heavy favourites this season(since week 3 anyway). Also worth noting the long range forecast is for a snow game which would be a leveller. Chiefs - Dolphins probably the best on paper, will see if I manage to stay up for that one
  19. Tbf was the Falcons issue not that the Saints had lined up in kneel down formation but then ran a play?
  20. If Bills win they host Steelers, if they lose they're back in Miami next week. Don't think either of those are terrible outcomes tho obviously 2 seed is much preferable
  21. Tennessee, thank you.
  22. For f**k sake Titans.
