  1. Watched the highlights and the only excuse I can offer Gaston is that when the punt up the park from Muirhead lands (pictured) , it looks like Graham is easily going to reach it first, so Gaston is probably a bit late in trying to come out and clear it but the ball skids off the turf a bit meaning that if Gaston had set off earlier he'd have easily got there first. Also you'd ask questions of the Arbroath defence being outrun by a 36 year old who never had any pace to start with. Other than that, fairly comprehensive and if Adeloye hadn't missed two absolute cast iron sitters it should have been 6-0
  2. Ah well, had slightly more faith in the Titans anyway.
  3. Just an insurance bet. I obviously want the Ravens and / or Titans to win
  4. Already got the Steelers / Jaguars / Dolphins treble on as insurance for the Bills not making the playoffs, seeing the Ravens inactive list isn't giving me much hope that my bet will lose tonight.
  5. Good result though should have been put to bed earlier. Fitzpatrick against a full back who is miles out of his depth is always fun to watch and they died on their collective arse second half. 6/6 from the last two games was needed with a tough run of three away games coming up, Morton the form team in the league and Airdrie picking up of late with a PTSD inducing trip to Dingwall in between.
  6. Obviously decided enough was enough. That Arbroath right back will be on the first boat back to Ireland
  7. Think another ref might have given a red for that tackle, not just stopping an attack but sliding in from behind with a bit of force
  8. Hopefully Robinson can show something, he's been poor since he came back
  9. At no point until Graham actually got to the ball first did I think he was getting there first. Was thinking "if only that had been Fitzpatrick it would be a goal... oh it's a goal anyway" Agree with everything else. At least we didn't concede within 5 minutes of scoring which seems to have been plaguing us of late.
  10. I don't know whether Arbroath's high line / offside trap is stopping our normal game plan of going wide and crossing, but we've had a goal and should have had a second from breaking it, we should be looking for Fitzpatrick with these passes as none of their defenders will get near him pace-wise. They've had a lot of the ball but haven't done much with it from open play, lots of long shots and set pieces but other than the time McMillan got skinned by McIntosh they've not got behind us. Ref treating it like a basketball match in terms of allowable contact, between that and the pitch not a great spectacle. Asked earlier who it was on co-comms, think it might be Steven Bell (it's definitely a recently retired ex-player)as he mentioned commentating before, he's certainly had some decent insights about defensive communication and positioning which you would only get from playing the game professionally but maybe needs to chill out a wee bit.
  11. Ref has definitely bet the overs on number of free kicks, if we keep giving them away it'll bite us on the arse so need to adapt. We've been piss poor here.
  12. Good finish from tight angle from Graham but no way Gaston should be getting there second
  13. Not hugely enthused by Stewart but a change might work as neither of the existing two were pulling up trees and if Mitchell was unhappy then moving on makes sense.
  14. At least the pitch gets a bit of a break after this, next scheduled home game is 17 February, tho if we get through in the cup (unlikely) and get a home draw then next round is 10 Feb. Suppose if us and Raith both get knocked out we could play the postponed game that week as well.
  15. Other thoughts from today : McInroy looked pretty decent wide right compared to when he was on the left wing when Fitzpatrick was injured as he doesn't have pace to go outside players but he's not going to displace Lawless on the right Robinson totally ineffective once again, he might need a run of games but barring injuries he's not going to get one due to our squad imbalance Neilson was excellent, he does lack pace and hasn't been up to it vs Dundee Utd and Raith but he can stroll through games like today We obviously won't, but I think there's a case for dropping Graham on Saturday, been poor for a while now and he wont need much to get fired up for Morton the following week.
  16. If Humphries plays like this tomorrow he'll win, but he'll average mid 90s and kebab lad will win 7-3.
  17. Ironically him being a Thistle fan and allegedly refusing to do business with the team he supports probably makes him ideal to be a football agent.
  18. Even though we've taken 7/9 points and knocked them out of the cup, playing QP this season is annoying as every time I hear the name Jack Spong I can't get Thong Song by Sisqo out of my head. QP fans will be raging at the soft goals from corners but I was glad to see us try a couple of different set pieces with designed dummies etc As most have said, made that very hard for ourselves and should have been far more comfortable but good to be back to winning ways after a tricky few games.
  19. low through pass which was overhit, came sliding out to take it with his hands at the edge of the box under very little pressure and it slipped out of his grasp to Paton who had an empty net
  20. Different game after their goal, we looked as if we'd worn QP down and with the position they're in losing the first goal saps confidence, but after Sneddon levels it up for them then they look a team with a bit of belief. Pitch at the corner of JHS and City end looks like a bog, assume everything will go through Lawless / McMillan second half. Didn't notice the ref at all for about first half hour then he's breenged into it, managed to ignore 2 clear advantages for us, didn't book the QP boy for the first, then evened it up by ignoring clear yellow card by Bannigan a minute later. Can see the argument for a red for Neilson (tho I thought he won the ball anyway?) as Muirhead probably isn't going to stop the shot getting off but the fact Muirhead is goal-side of the ball when the foul happens means most refs would err on the side of yellow
