  1. uhm sherlock holmes would never be caught dead in an opium den, horrible stuff. now habitual injections of cocaine, that's a different story, keeps the mind from atrophy.
  2. Indeed the are, and perfectly safe as long as you aren't operating machinery. Reason for banning: Because the govt are a bunch of spoilsports.
  3. There have been 0 recorded deaths cause by an overdose of MDMA. Deaths attributed to MDMA directly are usually due to heatstroke, dilutional hyponatremia (to many fluids for the body to process), or pre-existing heart problems. You should avoid alcohol, and mixing with other substances. Pressed pills are generally shit and full of basically anything that isn't MDMA but that may or may not provide similar results. So basically, 1) Don't buy pills. 2) If you have a heart problem, don't take anything that increases or alters your heart rate. 3) Don't buy pills. Testing kits can be purchased online which will give you an idea of the contents of your MDMA. Government regulation and legal laboratories would of course negate the need to test your own MDMA.
  4. eccies are magic, we should base the new scottish economy on whiskey, oil, fish, and eccies.
  5. Did anyone here go to that gig in G2 when Mogwai supported Godspeed You Black Emperor! and then they both teamed up to play the éncore?
  6. These points have all been answered adequately countless times, and TV is shit anyway so don't watch it.
  7. BT is a private company, they won't be going anywhere. Though maybe we could consider renationalising telecommunications in an independent Scotland.
  8. I liked David McLetchie as well, and Ruth Davison seems ok. They seem like decent people despite their political opinions, and far removed from the inbred horse fuckers in the UK cabinet.
  9. The Scottish Tories come across as a totally separate party when you put them alongside the Westminster lot. Hell, even Annabel Goldie was talking up the importance of trade unions on telly the other night. I almost spat out my tea.
  10. people who work in IT are total gaylords though.
  11. I think this is a reasonable stance to take on the cyclist/car debate: http://www.thefootdown.co.uk/2012/12/04/motorists-cyclists-fucking-idiots/
  12. Absolutely no idea. But since you're here, what's your studied legal opinion on Spain vetoing Scotland's EU membership out of spite?
  13. I suppose we could always ask the Spanish Foreign Minister what he thinks... http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/304495/Spain-will-not-veto-an-independent-Scotland-joining-EU *beaten, but my link is a Tory paper so it's obviously more neutral than NewsNat
  14. Maybe there should just be a stickied thread with a big FAQ that deals with all of the "but what about the pound?" type questions.
  15. Countries like Spain would also find that they are unable to fish in Scottish waters if Scotland was not an EU member.
  16. Membership of the EU is a question the only the UK Government can provide an answer to, and they are unwilling to do so. However, there is absolutely no reason why the EU would refuse membership to Scotland. In reality we would be fast tracked in. We will use the pound, until Scotland either establishes it's own currency or joins the Euro, there is no question of that. The oil industry is privatised, the Scottish Government would collect taxes on it the same way that the UK Government collects taxes. Norway is not an EU member by the way, they also have their own currency. The SNP have released their manifesto of how they see an independent Scotland, that does not mean that an indepenent Scotland will follow the SNP's vision. Other independent Scotland's are available and you will get to vote on them in these things called elections.
  17. You should visit Norway, it's cold and always pissing it down, and there's fucking hills everywhere.
