  1. I think they should have cut the Nations League back to a single match v each opponent - that would have saved them 3 matchdays for a start.
  2. As far as I'm aware, the adjustment in prize money from adding two extra top flight clubs was being funded by reducing the amounts for positions 1-12. I don't know the exact figures, but given that the uplift would have to be about 3% in total you'd expect that to be high five figure or low six figure sums per club per season.
  3. I don't think that in itself is a problem, it's not an unreasonable thing to have. However, in the context of this debate, you're asking top flight clubs to each make huge financial sacrifices, and to increase their own chances of relegation in order to change a league system that tends to work reasonably well as it stands.
  4. We had a press conference last season to welcome new signing Laurentiu Branescu, who we had on loan from Juventus. The thing lasted about 20 minutes, and about 18 of those were from the types of journalists you describe asking him what it was like to train with Buffon and work under Conte.
  5. You can't really operate on this basis - as soon as fans are allowed to get in, clubs will be desperate to get them through the door, whether that's after 1 game, 4 games or 7 games. They won't be waiting until the first round is completed due to some notion of fairness.
  6. I would agree. That's the one I remember the most growing up.
  7. "Would UEFA suspend the participation of Scottish clubs until the proceedings were completed?" is like one of those newspaper clickbait headlines where they write 800 words only for the answer to be "No".
  8. If I can guarantee that I don't have a phone with "coblat" in it am I allowed to spend my time campaigning against racism?
  9. WW Wales have provided the pies at Rugby Park for the last few seasons (no idea if that will change with the Brownings sponsorship deal now). They did the catering at Rugby Park for many years during the period where we developed a reputation as having the best pies in Scotland, and were only replaced by Brownings at some point during the 2000s, before returning when Brownings had the aforementioned dispute with Johnston.
  10. If I thought that deep down then I would post it, what would I gain from pretending to dislike something? It's possible to dislike some elements of the coverage and yet still want to watch the only football that's on the TV at the time.
  11. In that case you'd have Dundee United, Raith and Cove threatening legal action and desperately trying to reconstruct the league.
  12. f**k all when Dusseldorf get near the goal and look like scoring, but enormous boos and groans when there's an obvious free-kick given against them in the middle of the park. It's just fucking rubbish.
  13. If the 14-10-10-10 set-up is temporary, then that implies that we would be returning to 12-10-10-10 after some unspecified but short period of time (eg 2 years). To allow this to happen, two clubs would have to be relegated from each division, including League 2.
  14. I think the Beyond Meat burgers are absolutely tremendous - genuinely think they're nicer than any meat burger I've ever bought from a supermarket.
  15. Assume you mean Sports Division for us, because we've never been sponsored by Sports Direct.
  16. The prospect of reconstruction was literally mentioned in the original resolution which clubs voted for, and 14-10-10-10 was always at the forefront of that until it was claimed by Stirling that the League 2 clubs would block it.
  17. Do you eat meat, do you? I thought you'd have mentioned it sooner.
  18. Astonished to see that Edinburgh City and Partick Thistle fans think this should be voted through "for the good of the game".
  19. The opposite has happened here, where two separate people have barged into a thread about veganism to specifically say (or imply) they aren't vegans.
  20. I followed your structure perfectly, I just don't like it. The minimum number of games played would be 32 - clubs in the bottom eight would be playing 26 league games and 6 group games. It doesn't matter if something is the "only negative" if it's such a massive negative that it becomes unfair. If we take 2018/19 as an example, Aberdeen finished in 4th place with 67 points, only behind 3rd placed Killie on goal difference. Under your system they would have lost out on a European spot which would instead go to the winners of group stages involving teams who finished miles behind them in the league.
  21. No matter how much the sum is, if 100% of it goes to Hearts and they are only responsible for 2.25% of it (based on them finishing top of the Championship). That means they'll get paid more than it costs them if (and it's a big if) they win.
  22. It would come out of next season's and/or subsequent seasons' prize money. And while it is true that Hearts' prize money would reduce along with everyone else's, the amount that they would be awarded in a hypothetical successful court case would obviously be much more than they lost.
  23. My view is that they won't be successful (I'm not convinced they'll even try), but this is what they will be threatening in an attempt to bully the other clubs into voting for their reconstruction.
