  1. Well it is the petty nags thread, Im bored, and my brain feels like mince. Plus I smacked someone in the face with a door shortly before I sat down here to write this.
  2. My wee nag is doorholding. Now, holding the door in corridors is fine, after all, if you are walking through a door and there is someone close behind you, then it makes sense to hold the door open for them...the problem comes when they are quite far behind you...but not that far! I mean, you come up to the door, go through it, hold it open behind you...but then you realise that they are too far behind, and you are now forcing some complete stranger to have to run and look undignified, while you stand there looking even more undignified, like some sort of mad rapist. Of course, not holding the door open is unthinkable, after all, if they are walking a bit quicker than you think, you might look terribly rude. And so, you stand there for a second, looking like a fool, holding a door...you realise instantly that you have made the wrong decision, and the correct thing to do was walk on. After all, I know I dont want to be considered a mad rapist creep, and so you let go of the door and walk on. Inevitably though, that moment of hesitation has allowed them to catch up, and as you let go of the door, you can see that its going to hit them and inconvenience them, but by this point, its too late, and all you can do is walk on a bit quicker, making sure they don't catch up. I would LOVE to be able to rid myself of this habit, I do it all the bloody time! God knows how many people have had to do some wide eyed last minute dodging to deal with the door they expected to be held open by that mad creepy rapist...and of course, I have continued to walk on past my destination, before running up a floor and doubling back, just so I don't have to make eye contact. I'm not the only one who does this? Right?
  3. Well if its any consolation, my office is lovely and toasty.
  4. Its not raining here at the moment, but it looks wet and changable...there will probably be a bit of wind too. I gotta walk to my mates house in a couple hours, so I have to hope that it doesnt start raining again.
  5. Its only the 30th of December! Up until 10 minutes ago, I could have sworn it was the 31st! I even came back down from Arbroath 1 day early and went to the shop an hour ago for 2 days worth of food (shops are closed on new years day)....b*****d!
  6. So am I - except Im simply sick of home. This is why I dont like being up here at christmas. I get on really well with my family, but at this time of the year, we always end up annoyed with each other. Its what we do - we never argue any other time. I gotta get out of here!
  7. Oops! I meant my dad and my grans. I get angry around christmas.
  8. Well, Im at my mums, and Ive been drinking wine with my mum and stepdad, so we ordered a chinese at 9pm, and they are both now asleep in the living room...Ive got to go and wake them in an hour so they can go and "deliver" my wee brothers presents. Lightweights! However, I did spoil the magic of christmas by managing to storm out of my mums and my grans houses earlier on today. Probably not so good, but I hate being lied to and tricked.
  9. Quiet flakey! Oh yes, Jamie was round at the weekend - I know things!
  10. Thats them, Im me. I am a selfish b*****d. I am a known selfish miserable b*****d, specially at this special time of the year. The best christmas I ever had was the one I got to spend on my own in peace and tranquility. Do I get that this year? No. Time to change house methinks. Might go and see if my mums got room. She said she didnt mind what I did for christmas, and didnt try and trick me into it. Gah.
  11. No, its just that she usually goes to Germany to spend christmas with her daughter who lives over there, so this is a rare event. Therefore she obviously feels fully justified in playing the "Ill be dead soon" card.
  12. I was coming back here on the 27th or so, and then was gonna stay here till just after new year...the reason I changed my plan wasnt to do with my dads "your sister will be unhappy", or my grans "I might be dead before I spend christmas at home again", but because they were unable to get the full family together. I didnt mind, coming back here to do what was needed, but I resent being tricked into coming back here. I need to get my car back on the road, and so I need time to get underneath it and have a look and that requires my dads garage, which is full of christmas presents right now. Ooh, fuming!
  13. Not a happy bunny. Having dragged my wreck of a car home because I was needed for christmas by my family to ferry people about...it would appear that my uncle never lost his license after all. Did they tell me this? No. Did they lull me home under false pretences? Yes. They tricked me into coming home, and now I cant leave. Raging.
  14. Nothing, I think its sweet! You've done so well to become a mod despite your obvious handicap!
  15. Ive had that before, Vauxhall aye? The garage will likely just say "new pump", but there is often no need. First up, open the bonnet, and make sure you havent got any trapped wires or tubes (unlikely, but it happens to me sometimes). Secondly, make sure the car is switched off and pull the power lead out of the washer pump. You might have to unscrew the container first (its generally 1 screw), Give the connecting pins a bit of a wipe and polish. If you arent getting any noise, then it could simply be a dirty power connection. Push the now clean and dry pin back in, and see if it works. Failing that, wait till Reynard comes online, so he can tell you about his Lancias and how things were better in the good old days.
  16. Ahem, I was waiting for you to explain what made you decide I wore 3/4 length shorts. Maybe a post somewhere? Can you provide this simple thing yet?
  17. "Sorry, an error occurred." Try again! And I also have no idea what Swampy just said.
  18. Again, evidence please? I have never even talked on here about World of Warcraft, let alone play it. Furthermore, I dont live in halls. Can you kindly post links to where I said anything like that?
  19. So what will you be doing with your holidays this year? Surely not spending all day posting on here?
  20. Looks like you're this months target! Im off the hook, so to speak. If you get bored, just have a bit of fun with him.
