Not even the financial aspect for me. If Hibs got moved 7 miles out of the city I wouldn't go anymore, no matter what happened on the park. Part of going to Hibs for me is a day out in Leith with relatives and pals, if you took that away and told me I was having to get a shuttle bus to watch a team in a silent bowl of a stadium every fortnight, I'd lose interest rapidly. Fair play if it's different for your lot, but that's just how I see it.

Over half the fans are tuechters, many of the rest will be closer to Kingsford than Pittodrie. it's not at all the same as Edinburgh, you have other teams for the non-city folks to follow, whereas we're the only senior team for at least 65 miles.  You're comparing different things

  2. What is the point of Billy Dodds?

    Monday's game -

Fox clearly at fault for first goal...Dodds - "nothing keeper could have done there". HT pundits - "keeper could have done much better there"

During game  -"Fox is a top top keeper" - Liam McLeod/Pundits - "Fox has a reputation for some dodgy moments"(or somesuch)

Now, you didn't need to be a goalkeeping expert to know the first, nor to have watched many Ross Co games to know the second. So does Doddsy just spout fitba-speak and hope it passes for comment?

<must defend RG as he also shags sheep>

Listen fannybaws, he also said it later, and was corrected by Alan Preston......who isnt exactly a Hibs lover.

...or blessed with much intelligence, like yourself. It's probably why he also took the face value approach you have, rather than the intent of the comments as I have. OK Fudflaps.

Dickie Gordon - on Stuart and Tam - says he thinks Hibs fans will be unenthused about the candidates for the managerial vacancy at ER.

Because "Alan Stubbs won the cup and Neil Lennon was box office................."

Forget the possibility that the new guy might be a good coach/man manager etc, but if he cant give us a few choice wee quotes or controversy, we arnae interested.

    Fuckin plum

He quite clearly said and meant that the candidates were hardly something to get excited about *now*. Of course he might go on to win the treble, but that wasnt the point. Ye plum.

With most of the AWPR now open it is clearly going to make a Hell of a difference to traffic around Aberdeen

However, anyone who has used the Kingsford Junction already will know how fucking difficult it is getting onto the damn roundabout from the off-ramps. I really hope there's going to be traffic lights even if just for matchdays. Snorl will not even come close to describing the mess there's going to be.

It's a worry that the only bit that the AWPR has made worse is this section. Those from the south may have an issue, but remember match day arrival is much more spread out than rush hour, so possibly not an issue. Leaving shouldn't be a problem.

Hypothetically if it were, for some unforeseen circumstances rejected, could Aberdeen still be allowed to finish off their training ground & facilities and then just carry on like that was the only thing they were planning to build in the first place?

    Hypothetically, yes!

Actually no. It's all or nothing.

However there's no reason why the Dons couldn't go back and re-apply just for training facilities.

Moot point, it's done, the NKS have just wasted everyone's time and money.

Either NKS are blinkered or they're seriously clutching at straws here.  Probably both actually.

Apparently, and I have to say surprisingly, it is this. I was in convo with one of the Ward 13 councillors last night, who is very anti the stadium, as indeed are the other three, nevertheless this is the one whom I've got a semblance of a relationship with and is a good councillor.

I asked what they thought the chances were of succeeding. "Nil". And they have told NKS this repeatedly. Apparently the case they are basing their appeal on as precedent is nothing like the Kingsford case, in particular the developer that time was the council itself which dramatically changes the lie of the land.

Coming from the source it did, this is incredibly encouraging news for the Dons.

NKS absolute minters, wouldnt be surprised if some of them were involved in holding up the soon to be completed Aberdeen by-pass.

    Whats next after kingsford stadium?

The A96 dual carriageway from Inverurie thru the rest of Aberdeenshire to Moray ?

Yup, they've set up another company for after they've done their worst here, and to continue the bad work..

    Totally agree with you.

You should not be allowed on TV or radio if you can't even speak proper English. Miller and Derek Ferguson are awful in this respect, although I like Ferguson's enthusiasm.

Miller? Willie Miller? Go and listen again, he is up there with Michael Stewart.

Ferguson however is in a league of his own, his awful reading back from his notes at half & full-time is primary school stuff. You can almost see the bookmark being held under each line so he doesn't lose his place. IQ of a coo.

You’re not alone. Much as it pains me, I listen to R5 most of the time as I just cannot take the cringeworthy, toecurling amateurism that is BBC Glasgow’s football output.
Their “jobs for the boys” recruitment policy sticks in the craw too.
    C*nts.

I'm the opposite, Alan Green and co are appalling, and their knowledge of Scottish football is nil. When do they even have Scottish games on?

To be honest, in the last few years I think you could make a case for an Aberdeen bias in the BBC Scotland coverage.

You could, at the weekends. The difference between now and the Traynor years, is that despite the output being almost wholly filled with Weegie born/based journos, miraculously not a one supported Timmy or Hunny. They were all Morton, St Mirren, Clyde or Airdrie fans. Remarkable achievement that :unsure2: Now, the likes of Richard Gordon at least admit to their allegiances, but you could hardly call him biased.

However, I am backtracking a bit on my defence of Sportsound, due to listening to more than just midweek game day broadcasts and weekends over this last week.

If there's no game through the week, it's horrific, Kenny McIntyre and his Rangers-fest, and studio filled with barely literate ex-**** and ****. There's a definite two-tier sportsound, that drivel, and the likes of a weekend's output.

#YesKingsford supporters no doubt liked that Manchester City video that was released once they had won the league.

"If you like lego brick stadiums with no soul or history - shout hooray"

    "Hooray"

Didn't watch the video, no interest in it, saw the comments, I can imagine.

Yes, I like modern stadiums, Pittodrie is an utter dump. Nae dump as in Central Park, but a dump nonetheless.
