  1. Two games where we have had 60% possession and shots in the high teens. Yet we have been utter mince. That was worse today than on Monday night v Ross County where I felt we were unlucky not to come away with something. Again a draw probably fair result today, but I am honestly that scunnered at the performance that I almost don’t care. Every season you have a team that is expected to be poor and does well and vice versa. St Johnstone taking 10 games to win last season. Well even this early in the season we look that team. It might only be two games but I think we will need to win the Europa Cup this year to qualify for Europe next season and right now I am happy Livi and Hamilton are below us. Big game Wed evening v Livi But not sure we look up for the fight. 1 win in 10 league games is Hearts form. I am away to drink copious amounts of alcohol. And to think United did not have Shankland either.
  2. Loemba90 on previous page clearly on the wind up then...shame was hoping it was true. For this game only. Nothing against the lad.
  3. Hoping it may be Grimmy. Joking. Shame it was not McGinley seeing as he is injured in any case. Knowing our luck it will be Carson or Gallacher or Turnbull. Someone who we would miss. So is Shankland injured or is that a made up story as per....
  4. Not fans but commercially MFC would be hit in the pocket. As most clubs home games v the mould firm will be on Sky then the income from PPV will be limited but say even 2000 fans sign up to watch today’s game that equates to £24,000 less costs. That would have to be refunded if it switched to Sky. Otherwise I agree it would have made little difference.
  5. Apart from the fact we are talking about it on a football forum. Faces may make sense but surely you would need to seek approval from 1000+ families. Too complicated. Well done Paddy Power and Motherwell.
  6. All very interesting. I could understand if this was moved to Sky but it would potentially impact us in terms of refunding any PPV monies. I would prefer Sky to streaming but the club are denying this. Clear as mud !
  7. Typical winger. Hot one day - cold the next. I actually quite liked Elliot and I do think he could do a turn in the championship on affordable wages.
  8. In reality it is likely that White is 3rd choice striker as it stands behind Long and Watt. Possibly even 4th depending on how we plan to deploy Callum Lang. White will be an improved back up than either Manzinga and Ndjoli were last season. On that basis I suspect he will mainly be used as a substitute.
  9. Well I for one am very grateful for his (or her) enlightening and comprehensive contributions. He (or she) can post as many nerdy things as possible that are Motherwell FC related. Does a very good job.
  10. I listened to that fat p***k Boyd tear Motherwell a new one for that performance. Then I listened to a more measured review of the game from Maloney and Fleeting on Sportscene that was surprisingly good. Both felt Motherwell fully merited a draw and I concur. Ross County started the better but as soon as we sorted our shape out and got Turnbull back to his correct central position we dominated the game. Both teams had a penalty, both teams had shots hit the woodwork and into the bargain we missed an absolute sitter. Funnily enough that was a better performance than our 1st home game away to Livi last season where we stole a point in a drab 0-0. Then went on to lose our next game at home to Celtic. Still finished 3rd. We will get better and I was quite impressed with McGinley and Lamie. Lang also had a bit about him before his daft challenge. Seedorf was unrecognisable and Turnbull showed glimpses of the absolute baller he is. Disappointing result last night but we will be fine this season.
  11. Actually thought McGinley was good and Lamie solid. Carson also. We deserved a draw. Dominated 2nd half with a sitter and penalty miss. County created nada 2nd half. In all honesty I thought it would be a tough test. Ross Stewart best player on the park. Seedorf puts in an impressive cameo.
  12. I actually think McGinley has been good in glimpses. Grimmy on the other hand. I would dock £50 from his wages every time he takes a throw in and throws it to an opposition player. Not sure that is what you are supposed to do. I thought Gallacher got the ball for the pen but even if he did can see why ref gave it. County prepared to work harder all round. I think we thought we could turn up and win comfortably. Believing the media. Hastie has offered little and Turnbull wasted out on the left. Still all to play for - hopefully Robbo gives them a kick up the arse at HT.
  13. I would love to think it will be that simple. Pre season we have been average or fairly poor defensively against Rangers. I understand we are among the favourites for top 6 / Europe even, but a lifetime supporting Motherwell means I am never confident of a routine victory. I think it will take us a little time to gel with Lang and Long probably not quite fit enough yet. That plus 2 new defenders to bed in. If we win I reckon it will be a narrow win, but I am going to predict a scoring draw. Of course mi would take a handsome win but we rarely do that even v lower league opposition. Glad it is on Sky though as not convinced by streaming company as other teams fans also seemed to have issues at the weekend.
  14. 1. Celtic 2. Rangers 3. Aberdeen 4. Motherwell 5. Hibs 6. Livingston 7. St Johnstone 8. Kilmarnock 9. St Mirren 10. Dundee United 11. Ross County 12. Hamilton
  15. Well we witnessed the clusterfuck that was Rangers v Motherwell last week. Half the fans could not get on until half time. Turns out they were doing maintenance on the servers at kick off. Granted the KO was moved from 6pm to 8pm. BUT they could have postponed the maintenance knowing it was moved to 8pm or advised fans. Neither happened. I therefore am 100% pleased that our 1st game is on Sky next Monday evening.
  16. Bet you are a big fanbhoy of Tom Boyd though ? A Scottish Cup winning captain of Motherwell that can hardly hide his disdain for his former club any time Celtic are playing us. A total Bawbag of a man. In summary any one who is a supporter of a club their fans tend to like shocker !
  17. Very much this. In fact I seem to remember the odd pre season when we were very good only to have sh1te seasons. In my mind a middling pre season at least provides a healthy dose of realism before the season starts. Still strongly fancy us for top 6. A lot will depend on Robinson and other key players staying. Is it that unrealistic to think that come October the Manager, Turnbull, Gallagher and Campbell might all be away ? With Robbo if we start season strongly then every championship and league one club that sacks their Manager will be quoted as a potential destination.
  18. That would be me. So only a 1-0 defeat imho. Also should have scored a couple at least ourselves 2nd half. On a more serious note they need to sort out the streaming service. I managed to get on at KO and then it blew up and despite repeated attempts first half thankfully I could not get on. Seems like a capacity issue but we are hardly Barcelona. If we cannot get several 000 on what hope is there. I hope Motherwell come out and address that and ensure it is working for the league games or I will be a lot more angry than I was tonight.
  19. Just what the Gaffer has said post match interview. An honest assessment but clearly even at this stage Rangers were match sharper and fitter because they have played more and tougher games / opposition. If we play like that in the games in August in the league then I will worry but not now and not tonight.
  20. If I eventually get on Motherwell TV I will just pretend it is 0-0. Maybe MFC TV new what was coming - 2-0 down already FFS
  21. I wonder what happened to Paycare ? I am quite sure they renewed the back of the shirt sponsorship only a month or so ago. I also saw a LinkedIn post a week or two ago actively advertising our shirt sponsorship so I would assume we are still looking. Cannot imagine it will be easy especially in light of Covid19 impact on most businesses !
  22. You are not playing Sevco tomorrow. The Well are at Ibrox with a KO at 6pm. Live on Premier Sports I believe + stream for all Motherwell season ticket holders inc my good self.
