  1. I'm probably in a similar position to you, I started golfing this year, had played a wee bit until I was 14 or 15. Basically starting again from scratch. I really looked for maximum forgiveness. I tinkered about with clubs before settling on what I use now. Everything I've picked up has been either second hand or just cheap! Like me, you'll probably find that the technology has moved on considerably and quality second hand clubs are much more affordable with the advent of sites like eBay and Gumtree... I use Wilson LCG Graphite Irons for 5-PW, a new, cheap set. I wasn't adverse to spending a bit more than I did on these, but they seem to suit me really well. I really struggled to launch the ball and a set like this which is really aimed at beginners helped me. The irons all have thick soles and the weight is well back in them. Prior to this I was using a set of Adams A7 irons which I still have. Better clubs in theory, but I feel much more confident with the cheaper Wilsons at the moment. I've found hybrid clubs to be great and something you might benefit from the same way I did. My second hand Titleist 910H is probably my most used club and can be had fairly cheap on eBay. It's so easy to hit and great out of the rough. My wedges and fairway wood are from a company called MD golf, their equipment is great quality for the price and well worth looking at. Not sure if you're near Livingston or Tillicoultry but there are outlet shops there which stock their stuff, I noticed they had a full set of MD Icon irons from 5-PW for £99, looked an absolutely cracking buy. My wedges were £25 each and are amazing quality for the money. http://www.todaysgolfer.co.uk/equipment/golf-clubs/irons/md-golf/icon/md-golf-icon-game-improver-irons/
  2. Hate when you think you've just dropped an absolute brammer of a shite, swivel round and there's just a wee malteser peeping back at you.
  3. I'll bring a bag of chicken, six cans and a fishing rod. Maybe a couple of individual fruit trifles.
  4. What qualifies membership of the beast quotient? Have they made allegations against other posters, or have the been accused of beast activity themselves?
  5. I'm a little lost on why Mozza has been annexed. Also, what is the "beast three" all about?
  6. My favourite thing about this new version of P&B is that it allows me to view a larger version of your little photo.
  7. It was fucking wild on Sunday night. Blowing a proper gale and monsoon like rain. One of the wee eyelets for the tent poles broke and the thing was flapping about like a fanny in the wind. Yesterday and today were both decent though, mostly nice and bright with the odd heavy shower. Played golf at Corrie today, if there's a more scenic golf course anywhere in the world I'd like to see it. Saw plenty wildlife up close, seals, dear, different birds. Rounded it off with a tub of ice cream in the park at the castle. Lovely place. Very busy at this time of year but still an enjoyable visit.
  8. I'm not busy either has it turns out. I could come up with a couple of individual fruit trifles if you want? I'll bring my travel version of connect 4 as well. Just let me know pal.
  9. I'm getting the ferry to Arran at 6 then camping in a tent tonight. Given the weather it will be like something out of a Bear Grylls programme. I won't be necking my own pish though.
  10. The English Premier League being referred to as 'the prem'
  11. Small packages? You'd need to post her in a shipping container. Why did you match with that absolute horror?
  12. A bottle is a dangerous weapon, any woman who comes at you with one deserves a straight right.
  13. It's not too late to get the ball rolling. f**k off Philpy you sick c**t.
  14. Sterilization of these types is the only option. We could administer the necessary drugs by lacing Sterling Superkings. The profits of Sky TV will plummet. Orders of massive corner sofas on hire purchase from DFS will dry up within months. The population of Scotland will decline to medieval levels.
  15. Morrissey was better in Men Behaving Badly than in his shit music career.
  16. I'm not really into my expensive mobile phones, I bought a new iPhone 4 when they first came out in 2010 and worried about it too much. It packed in about a year ago and decided to buy a cheap phone to replace it. I only really use it for Calling, WhatsApp, Emails, web browsing and listening to music on occasion. Got a Vodafone Smart Prime 6 based on strength of reviews and it was very impressive. Android's poor use of external storage being it's main drawback. I tried using a GPS golf rangefinder app but the GPS accuracy was dreadful. I dropped it on holiday and stayed on the cheapo road, got a Nokia Lumia 540 for 40 bucks and have been very happy with it to this point. Some of the missing apps are a bit of a pain, but bearable for someone like me. The email client is fantastic, GPS accuracy is great and although it only has 8GB of internal storage it handles the SD card way better than my old Android phone. It also has an excellent WiFi antenna meaning I can watch a bit of filth before I get out my scratcher.
  17. My only real ailment is self inflicted. Crashed a car about 7 years ago and mangled my arm and shoulder, I was very, very lucky not to lose my arm. My elbow was smashed to bits and one of the nerves severed. Had a number of operations since to repair the bones, nerves and muscles. Right hand side of my hand is still numb and I can't straighten my elbow completely or turn my wrist much. Doesn't affect me much now but the excercises I had to do for the first couple of years were fucking brutal. Wanking was murder for a while, although I'm now almost ambidextrous in that respect now. Other than that, I was recently given steroid inhalers as I seem to be severly athsmatic, I thought I was just seriously unfit... I am genuinely appreciative to be relatively fit and healthy when you see what some people have to struggle with. People are remarkable in the way they're able to adapt and do what needs to be done to manage their conditions.
  18. Not sure if anyone has played at Carluke, 11th hole is quite spectacular. Only 124 yards but a massive drop, even more so than it looks in this photo and with the trees and plants in full bloom. Hit a sand wedge which looked to be coming up short, scudded a path, bounced onto the green and trickled towards the hole and stopped about half a foot out, agony. Nice wee course though.
  19. Disagree, I didn't touch a drop and I'm sitting here on the verge of tears. Just as well I don't actually need to do any work. Edit - That c**t Bob Geldof hasn't improved my mood any.
  20. That first horror behind the camera should not be permitted to live.
